London Embassy - Vaccination Requirements

Can anyone tell me which out of the list of vaccinations are required - I know I have had polio & tetanus vaccines but not the mmr as they weren't given 50 odd years ago. But I do remember contracting german measles (rubella) as a child?

I would obviously want to get these done before my interview as I believe it costs quite a bit if the embassy's designated doctor does it.

Have a look here. http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/...ccinechart.html

You don't say what embassy you are working through but it shouldn't matter. I would think that the vaccinations would be the same but not positive.

Oh and if you have had the chicken pox, this immunization is not required.

Sorry, didn't notice that you did have London on your timeline. lol

The MMR is very definately a requirement. Pop along to your GP and get one otherwise they will give you one at your medical and you will have to pay for it. I know the MMR and TD together cost £60.

Good Luck

You will also need to have the MMR & if your over 50 also the flu jab.these are best got from your GP, as the visa medical charges too much & its costly enough :P

also get yourself proof of vaccinations from your GP to take to your medical!!

What they said - the big three are tetanus, the MMR, and varicella/chickenpox, and since you refer to the shot not being available 50 years ago I'll assume you're old enough to need a flu shot (and possibly the pneumonia vaccine?) there's a list somewhere that has them all on it. Get them done by your GP and get him to write a note on office letterhead saying that he gave you X shots on X date. Then keep it safe because you'll need to take it to the medical and you might need the note again in the US if there's any question about needing a new vaccination certificate later on.

Thanks everyone for your help - I have already arranged for a printout of our medical history from the GP. However, I do remember having chickenpox and german measles in my childhood - so this means the receptionist will have to dig out my 'old' records to confirm this as they are not on the computer. They also need to do some digging in Les' files as they have no record on any immunisations/vaccinations on computer at all!!!

As you will see from my 'signature' things seem to be moving along quite quickly - just hope our police report turns up in time.

Just in case anyone is a little confused - our case is different from the majority as we are immigrating as parents of a USC just the same as Munchkin.
