Touches... where?

What is the link to the dates and if you don't check regularly do you miss seeing touches? I could not find, even though I tried to research this link.

You need to use your case number to check for updates here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

When there is some activity on your case, you will see an updated status. This is called a touch.

It doesn't matter how many times you check your case in regards to "touches". We were never touched through the time we waited and were then denied and we were never touched while waiting and were approved. Some people do get "touched" but others don't. I checked and checked, never helped but once approved, they updated our status so I guess that is the best touch of all.

I can't use that site to check on the touches. It won't accept my case #. It asks for a receipt number (which we do not have). Does anybody know how to get your receipt number from USCIS?

Once, when I called USCIS, they checked on our case for me just using the case # that we were issued in Cairo. She said there was a receipt number in her system, but she wouldn't give it to me.

Anybody know what that means??

HI - if you paid for your fees via personal check it should be printed on the back of the check.... this is what i have read on VJ at least!!
