Hi folks,

I called the NVC last week and the auto message stated that the case was completed August 27th and wait 8 weeks...etc.

I then called today and the message stated that my case was completed and was forwarded to the Sydney Consulate on September 6th.

My question: does it mean the Consulate has it now or does it mean the case was mailed out to the consulate on September 6th?

Thanks!

Call the embassy and ask them!

I would except it's the weekend and APEC in Sydney last week pretty much shut them down. I was looking to see if any others knew exactly what it meant when they went through it.

Thanks JA TAM and Diana! I emailed the embassy earlier. I just got back from Sydney too. I miss my wifey already. Damn APEC shut everything down late last week. Oh well. I am hoping for a mid-October interview date. Oh, getting so close... :bonk:

Diana,

I am so happy you got your interview date! Congrats to you! I remember how much of a runaround you got during the DS-230 phase. It's all behind you now and just the interview for your husband is left. Have a great time flying down to be with him!

I know it, while we're going through the NVC process we make such a big deal about any kind of delay, and it'll be over soon.

Thanks!

Hey Alex!

Congrats on your recent wedding, I trust all went lovely - I've read snippets from what emails I get from the aussie string. And best of all congrats on the interview date!!!:dance::dance:

Well, we've finally got the long-awaited I-864 posted today!!! With the DS-230 already being processed our fingers are crossed that both go through ok.

After looking at the interviews being handed out in the aussie string I'm guessing ours won't be till Jan/Feb but I secretly hope that they go through quicker than expected so that by the time our case is closed we may have an earlier time or a cancellation. :innocent:

Either way we're already looking at me going over for Christmas in the interim. May I ask what you think we should expect?

Cheers,

Pris.

Hi Pris!

Thanks so much! Ahhh, Sydney was extra sweet this time around.

Congrats on sending out the final piece to the NVC puzzle! You're almost done now!

As for what to expect, give it about 2 weeks after they have received the AoS paperwork. Call in after. You can see my timeline as for expected dates. I suspect things will fall in line nicely.

It's VERY possible to get an earlier date. We already got a request for one a week after I had requested for Vy to be on a waiting list but that was too soon LOL! She still had her medical appt. the next day. We are hoping to get another chance in a few weeks. Also, it seems that the Sydney consulate is moving faster (at least by email response time LOL) so you might get a sooner date. Niphredil got a November date which was about a month earlier than mine so maybe an opening popped up and they put her in there?

Good Luck Pris! I'm so happy you're almost there too. I'll be sure to share any info I get since you're practically behind me.
