105 days and counting for obtaining the NOA-2. I check the USCIS website twice a day for any sign that my packet has been worked on or "touched" and nothing as of today. I noticed that the new processing time for the I-129F is listed as 6 months. What does that mean? Does that mean if you file today you have an average of 6 months to wait or are they saying all packets have 6 months to go?

USCIS has announced that they expect to process a petition for I-129F in 6 months time. Here are the VisaJourney.com timelines, you can see actual times reported by users. However, past performance does not guarantee future results.

File as soon as you can, so you can get in line earlier and get out of line earlier.

Best of luck!

I understand it is crappy. But think about it, there are THOUSANDS of petitions that get sent to USCIS in one month. and there are only so many workers to process these petitions.

6 months is not the average time frame. 6 mos. is the reported goal that they will try not to exceed... When the USCIS is in compliance with the goal they will report 6 mos. When the USCIS is outside the goal they will report the actual date of the files they are processing.

YMMV

Eduara - I understand what you're saying, however, USCIS stated in their publication regaring the increased fees that they would maintain current processing times and have a goal of 20% improvement of processing times by year end 2009. They have not maintained the current processing times, they have increased, so I am p*ssed off. They are a government agency that has been identified by the ombudsman as having numerous inefficiencies. If they would take some of the advice from the ombudsman's report, things would be much better.

If they would hire more ppl and open more offices to put the new ppl (and they can do it with the fee increase) then petitions would be completed faster.

That would be fine, but if I remember correctly, CSC WAS processing most petitions in around 90 days, and wasn't VSC processing petitions at around 60 days? I really don't think there was this huge increase in petitions filed before the July deadline. So then...why the slow down? They have the same amount of workers they have had...there hasn't been a decrease.

I agree with you Jaime. When I started this process I thought I would be aprroved in 90 days or less. Now I am at 103 days since receiving my NOA1 and still have no idea when I will get my NOA2. In addition, alot of people filing after us paid alot more money for fees and all they are getting for these higher fees is a slower processing time.

I totally agree with the fact that USCIS was crushed with last minute packets before the fee increase deadline. It seems to me that the people that filed in May are getting held up for the last minute filers in June and July. When I first filed, the USCIS website said approx. 90 days for NOA2, 30 days later, the time changed to 110 days, now it says 6 months. Why would an K-1 visa packet already filed with a NOA-1 issued be held up by new packets being filed after my K-1 was filed? Aren't they looked at in the order they were received? It seems to me the system is backwards.

Not crying about my situation, but I have seen many VJ'ers with similar timelines as mine that already have NOA-2 and interview dates. I even saw someone who filed K-1 at the same time as me and already finished the interview and have their visa. The USCIS needs a big overhaul and someone needs to get the daily operations in order. The whole idea of not knowing the status of your paperwork is a pain. Can't rely on the USCIS website, calling the USCIS is a joke, and noone here can look into the future! If I wasn't so in love with my Fiance, I would give up on the whole process!

Letsseee instead of processing your application last month ....

The Washington Times disclosed last week a confidential USCIS criminal report that stated that several USCIS employees were accused of aiding Islamic radicals with identification fraud and bribery.

Or maybe they did ..

...UCIS lost some 111,000 files including 30,000 files of aliens seeking to naturalize. As unbelievable as it may seem USCIS went ahead and adjudicated those 111,000 applications ....
