NVC operator asks for email address

Just curious. I called NVC a week or so ago, I've only spoken to a person say 3-4 times - but the operator asked me for my email address - have you ever been asked for it?

I have never been asked for my email address, with all the calls I have made to them. They probably had it anyway with all the emails that I sent to them . I wonder what that's all about.

They had asked me before and I had asked them the purpose of it. They said that they are trying a new feature and coming out with using the email notification, just like USCIS website, for updates regarding the case.

The funny thing too is, on top of their actual "What's your case#, beneficiary name and birthdate and agent's phone number" questions, I have been asked to verify the email address twice already.

Email notifications will free up their phone lines from people like me who called constantly until we were assigned our interview date.

Is that a good thing? Getting as many people off their backs, while our fees just went up? HHmmmpp...

I was asked for mine once, too, but only once. Still haven't gotten emails from them because of it

And it hasn't helped our case one bit

I was asked yesterday. And, voila, my IV bill shows up at my front door after its "Tour of America". Believe me, it was lonely...spending 10 days at the NVC and then another 2 weeks wandering across the USA.

But maybe I'll call NVC again in another week and the IV bill will show up as being paid.

I've been asked for it the last say 6 times i've called, it like.. ok you MUST have it you've asked me for it loads lately, but i just give it to them again...... and again..
