AoS Fee Processed

I just called the NVC and the system tells me that the AoS fee has been received on August 30. I will be calling Tuesday to see if they have generated the I-864 so I can mail in the package.

Here's my situation... I use tax software and e-file every year. So all I have are the "for your records" ones. My W-2s are also electonic and am able to reprint at will. My question is this: Is it ok to send these reprints or should I send the transcripts, which I have just requested? I will have to wait for them 10 - 15 days.

I'm using JSCs and was hoping to be able to send what I got so I can save as much time as possible.

They might not accept forms from the Tax software, you are better off with the IRS transcripts. You can call IRS and request for the last 3 years to be sent to you via fax. I guarantee you that within few minutes, you'll get it from them.

In my understanding they will not accept the e-file ones, contact the IRS, that's what we have done. It won't take too long to get the IRS official docs.

Thanks for your responses. That is what I was afraid of. I have already requested the transcripts. I will call again and see if they can be faxed to me.

I also use turbo tax and all I did was print out the "for your records only" pages along with copies of the W2s and didn't have any problems with my I-864 when I sent it in. You can also wait for your transcripts and don't worry about using James' shortcuts for this step of the process since the one that takes the longest is the DS-230. You'll have plenty of time to wait for your transcripts, mail in the I-864 and you will still be waiting for the DS-230.

Thanks for your responses. That is what I was afraid of. I have already requested the transcripts. I will call again and see if they can be faxed to me.

I second Mononoke28's response on taking your time with the I-864 paperwork. I recommend waiting for the tax transcripts since you already sent out for it. Get the fax as someone else suggested if you want it even more quickly.

Two questions:

1) Are you just using your income?

2) Is it only for your spouse (no kids)?

If so, fill out the I-864EZ form. It's so much quicker and easier to fill out. If you will be filling out the I-864 (non-EZ) because of co-sponsors and additional assets, then send it in earlier because I bet it would take a little longer to review. I filled out the EZ version and it was completed a few weeks after the NVC received it (I got the infamous, "...missing documents" auto voice response which meant they were waiting on the DS-230 forms).

Also, I sent mine via priority mail. You don't even need to do that (assuming you are on the east coast). My I-864EZ paperwork was received well before they even generated the DS-230 information packet.
