Hi everyone,

After reading and re-reading and posting questions on these forums... I have the ultimate question. Do you guys think it is easy or hard to attain a K-1 Visa? I mean, do you know if a lot of K-1's get denied, etc? Also, I am sure the next question is, specifically from Thailand, is it hard or easy to attain a K-1 Visa?

Thanks a lot guys!

Its easy. The reasons for a K-1 to be denied are very clear. There is no CO going, "I don't like you, so I wont grant you a visa". They have to follow guidelines based on the law.

If you follow the rules, document your visits and so forth, then no, it is not hard.

Is it difficult, in terms of waiting for the process to complete?

Well, in my case, it was the most difficult thing I have ever experienced. However, with that said, I was in the IMBRA group of last year and we waited almost a year to be together, after living together for 5 years.

littleasianman7,

It's neither easy nor hard - it takes time, money and a lot of patience. If you have the time (and of course the money, including fees, medical, moving, travel and other miscellaneous expenses) and more importantly you/the foreign fiancé and the relationship can withstand the time by being patient, then you'll survive. All things being equal that is - if you meet the requirements (which are not that hard to meet) you should be fine. .

As for easy? No, it's not easy... but then often things that are worthwhile, are not easy..

I think it depends on the country. The Philippines can be difficult because it is considered high fraud but we blew right through the K-1 and AOS.

depends on the country and how complicated your case is. i found it easy, it was the waiting to be with my husband the hard part.

In our own experience, it hasn't been that hard. If you understand the process well, you are well organized and your case is simple, it should be fairly easy
