So I'm listening to Lali Nehary and I miss:

The smell of corn cooking on the hibachis on the beach

The fruit smoothies while sitting in the open cafe's watching the cars and people go by

The smell of pure strong unadultrated deisel fuel blown in my face while I'm hot as hell

The smell of my husband when he finishes getting dressed

The way my husband locks his arm firmly in mine while we walk down the street

The way my hubby and I laugh hysterically so hard that our tummies hurt

The constant honk honk of the car horns

:cry::cry::cry:

Oh doodles, that's so sweet! Now you've brought back memories with the corn, the honking, the deisel.

By the way, let's not forget trying to cross the streets while the cars will NOT stop for anyone crossing  (Everytime we would go for a walk i would always ask him: "do we have to cross the street?)

Me trying to tell my SO "Baby slow downnnnn" and him answering "But baby i AM going slow"

If we took the bus somewhere, i would hang on to anything, while my life flashed in front of my eyes  (the first time we went on a mini-bus, i asked him, "where are the seatbelts?", he didn't know what i was talking about until i showed him what was left of a seatbelt next to me, then he laughed and said, "we don't use that here" (hence, my life flashing in front of my eyes)

ohhhhhhhh, and please, someone who's been there, answer this.....do they use some kind of poppy seed in their food? or something like that? BECAUSEEEEE I would fall asleep EVERYWHERE! It wouldn't matter where i was, or who was with us, my eyes would just close as if i hadn't slept in years! ... It was most embarrassing when i slept in front of company! (not a pretty site my heading bobbing)

I took my hair dryer to egypt. When i got out of the shower with my wet hair, i went to plug in my blow dryer, but couldn't find where to plug it! When i saw the 2 round holes in the wall i thought DUHHHH!! Akram had to go out real quick to buy me a blower before my hair turned into "bozo the clown's"

Standing on a bridge while looking into the Nile then in each other's eyes, the food, the being able to laugh at everything good or bad, the dancing to 'Nat king Cole' songs, with his dad's old records, on an even older record player. It's funny how the simple things are the things we treasure most.

I miss everything too doodle

Mine wouldn't let me cross the street! :luv:

I miss being able to have conversations that don't cost 34 cents a minute. Or having conversations, period.

Divorced. To hell with him.

I miss knowing that I am in control of my own destiny, not some faceless person in an office somewhere.

I miss the sound of my husbands laughter

I miss the way his eyes change with his moods

My life has been blessed with the love of 4 of the sweetest men in the world. James, Jonathan, Nicolas, and Islam, my sons and my S/O.

OPSSSSSSS I DID IT AGAIN!

The smell of pure strong unadultrated deisel fuel blown in my face while I'm hot as hell

Ohhhh I remember this. Every time I smell truck exhaust it makes me homesick! I know exactly what you mean. Even though Ahmed's here, there are some things that instantly trigger that "I wanna go 'home' " feeling. The other day I dug my shawl out, which I hadnt worn since I was last in Morocco, and it smelled like my mother-in-law. My eyes welled up and over. *Sigh* Isnt it odd the things that we miss from there?

In any event, have some big peanut butter cups and a tall frappucino on me, dearie. I know its got to be hard on you right now. (F)

I miss sitting on my front porch watching the kids play.

I miss fresh cucumbers and habanero peppers from my mom's garden.

I miss brewed coffee.

I miss driving.

I miss dancing in the car with my friends.

I miss shopping by myself, taking my time, and not buying anything in the end.

I miss chili burgers.

I miss my independence.

GREAT THREAD Doodle. :)

I miss cooking together in the kitchen and grilling and then eating outside while listening to Billy Holiday music.

I miss going to the movies together.

I miss going to our favorite beach for the weekend and eating at our favorite dive on the pier.

I miss him falling asleep and kissing his forehead to wake him up to go to bed.

I miss waking up next to my husband and just feeling him next to me. :crying:

I miss being at his parents and waking up to hear the birds out side and the call to prayer and the sound of the mopeds going by.

I miss the sound of my mother inlaw's laughter.

I too, miss the smell of my husband. He ALWAYS smells yummy.

I just miss being in my husband's arms.

The smell of cumin INSTANTLY makes me think of Morocco and makes me miss everything about it.
