Greeting cards to both of us as supporting evidence

Hello everyone,

I have a quick question: I am scheduled to apply to lift conditions in august but I am starting to put the file together already so that I won't have to do it at the last minute...My question concerns the supporting evidence such as cards or mail addressed to both of us etc. do I have to send in the originals or can I just make photocopies? I have lots of cards we got for birthdays, the birth of our baby etc. that I would really like to keep as memories and I would really hate to have to send them to immigration instead since they don't return anything to you... <_< Hope someone has an answer.

Thanks for your help! (F)

I sent in only photocopies of all of our evidence. Approved, no interview, no request to see originals.

:)

Smart cookie, starting so early!

Good question Alex, and thanks for the info Mauxna!!!

I'm already preparing my application as well, although I still have a looong way to go.

I have my "lifting of conditions" box that's getting fuller and fuller everyday and I was just wondering about sending originals or copies. There's so many cards, letters, etc. that I would really like to keep!

Is it ok if I photocopy the envelopes of letters, cards, and so on, too???

Thanks! (F)

P.S.

I'm asking about the envelopes because I copied a few, but they didn't come out good at all...you can barely tell they're envelopes, from the photocopies.

Is it ok if I send them, anyway?

I don't see why not. Maybe try putting a piece of black paper on top of them before you copy, so you can see the edges and it's clearer that they're envelope size?

I was just shuffling through our immigration stuff and saw how awful the photocopies of our cards etc are. Apparently it's not a problem; I just made sure the postmark showed up ok and most of the interior of the cards.

I'm a packrat, so I def. did NOT send originals! :)
