My wife had her conditional status lifted last Sept 2006, and USCIS claimed that they sent the 10 yr. GC in October, but we never received it. I sent in an I-90, without certified mail, and learned that they never received that application (what a coincidence). I sent another I-90, with certified mail, and the USCIS rejected the application because the original 10 yr. GC they "sent" us was never returned to them by USPS. Certainly, we don't want to pay for the GC, so what options do we have? I feel that these problems are deliberate.

Also, my wife is able to apply for naturalization because she's been in the US for 3 yrs. Can she apply for naturaliztion without the 10 yr. GC? She has the stamp and written confirmation, by the immigration officer, that the conditional status was lifted on the passport. This is a much better option for us because we can just pay for this application and have her naturalized.

Finally, how is the new naturalization test(s)?

Thanks!

I think you need to include a photocopy of the GC as well as fill in the A-number as part of the Naturalization application.

When I became a citizen - they took away my greencard. So, if I didn't have it - I wonder what if anything they would have done. You do need to provide your A# but a copy of the card is not required - so I think you could still file but may need to produce it in case its asked for during the interview process. Good Luck
