So hkk and stabu, do either of you want to volunteer for that first edit? (please say yes) :)

trailmix, I'd be happy to help if I can. However, I have a fairly busy work schedule in the next few weeks, with lots of travel, including one to Germany, where I hope to be able to take my wife back home with me when I return at the end of September. (Wouldn't that be nice! ) So, unfortunately, I won't have the time in the next few weeks to take any leading role in any editing.

Hey that's not a problem - I hope you have a wonderful trip, I hope your wife returns with you too - that would be terrific.

Well, I will take a run at it, can't guarantee it will be anything brilliant and will take a while as I don't have that much time to do it - but when we get a few people in editing it will shape up to .... something!

I think probably you, me and Stabu (stabu are you in?) could accomplish it.

- First I think we need someone to do a first edit (hone it down, use some point form add what they know that has changed).

- Second we need the other two to read it and add what they know (I don't know much btw haha) and refine it again.

- When we all agree on the finished product someone would need to put it out here on the forum and let everyone read it - give their input and we would do modifications based on new information/suggestions.

- Put our somewhat finished product in a .pdf (do you have access to acrobat pro hkk)?

- We will need a fresh section for the barcode generation/sizing - but that could come later.

So hkk and stabu, do either of you want to volunteer for that first edit? (please say yes) :)

I'm interrested in the project but I dunno if i wanna start it :(.

This smells like some more code of some kind and I'm really not looking foreward to it :(...

My stresslevels are also abnormally high because of this visa process so I dunno really if I'm up to it... I consider it an accomplishment when I can keep the two IR-1/CR-1 threads up to date :(...

But if you start it, I can help, but give me some time please ...

Hi Stabu,

Yes, I feel the same way, I have often thought of getting a start on it but never have because of that, plus the two threads - that is an accomplishment - as you know I update it from time to time when I have the patience, but I've been lax about it lately because it is detailed (so I applaud your being so on top of it all the time)!

I haven't looked at the shortcuts well that's not true, I have and abandoned it about 5 minutes later. So I think it's a good idea but as you said it's daunting!

Just to point it out, I didn't mean to take all the credit to myself. I know that you in particular have been keen to keep the timelines up to date and I really appriciate it a lot :). In general I consider it very helpful if some members even state on the thread what has happened to their case. The problem with the timelines is that most don't keep theirs updated :(. It's also very frustrating to search other peoples timelines by looking at around 20 member profiles each day in order to discover some changes :(...

And I was pointing out that you SHOULD take all the credit! You are the only one taking responsibility for that timeline and if not for you it wouldn't exist :)

Just to belatedly reply here -- I had completely revised the shortcuts a month or two ago, adding almost all of what has been discussed here plus some other things. I did it in Notebook, which is where I do most computer-related editing, pasted it into VJ, and closed out of Notebook without saving. Long story short, there was a VJ glitch when I tried to post it, and when I hit the back button it was all gone.

Yeah, I'm an idiot.

I haven't gotten the energy back up to do it again, but I hope to in the not-too distant future.

Meh

James,

On behalf of other VJ friends, THANKS for the shortcuts!!!! Your contribution made it simpler for most of us. Let us know when the update is out!

And for the rest of the VJ that continuously share their thoughts to improve and minimize our "waiting period" ..thanks to all of you too!

A HUGE second to that one!

James, your shortcuts along with other member's recent updates of the NVC system process behavior has made my life TONS easier. Knowing what stage I was in gave me more patience and understanding throughout the NVC process. It has also sped up my processing by a MINIMUM of one month. I recently received that coveted CASE COMPLETE auto message and I have to personally thank you and the other VJ members (Mononoke, Saywhat, Erica, etc...) for helping me get that.

There is this one important thing I was just told today by an NVC rep :secret: . She said that once the IV Fee Bill is received and entered in the system, it is almost guaranteed that 5 days after that will be when the DS230 is generated then mailed out that same week.
