OK, now I feel paranoid again...the thing is I would think they would tell us. I asked about what would happen if the AIDS/Syph. tests were positive and the doctor said he would call us to tell us BEFORE we went to the embassy...it only seems fair to inform someone of what is being done and what the results are before a third party finds out.

They don't have to tell you anything... the only people that they have a responsibility to and have to tell is the consulate through the medical report... There is no fairness about it...

Drug tests these days are advanced enough to be able to separate drugs from poppy seeds.

trust me.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

why would you CARE so much and continue to post about it IF your husband does not use illegal drugs?

as for the poppy seeds ... they most likely show up in urine tests, not blood tests. and since it's a blood test, there is an additional test that looks for certain chemicals present in heroin that are not present in poppy seeds.

I am not afraid of my husband passing a drug test. I would take an oath before anyone that he is not a user. I am afraid of a false positive. This is what happened to my mother at her place of work 2 years ago. Her boss, who knows her, let her retake it because they are used to false positives and knew she couldn't have possibly have done anything. She, however, took a urine test, and if it's true a blood test can tell the difference between food and drugs, then I'm all set and am no longer paranoid
