Guys....I have a question...I understand now that the petitions will be forwarded to the NVC and then to the embassy and that is when they will send out packet 3 to tell us what to do next...is this correct??? Also, how will I know when the NVC receives the petitions??? Do you just call and check after so long or something???

Thanks

Correct, the Embassy will send out packet 3 with full instructions.

Stay in touch with the NVC, with your case number in hand. They are friendly and responsive to queries. Call them often, as the case status can change in a moment.

You can call NVC with your CSC case number, and if they have your file the IVR will give you your NVC case number, with that you will be able to have all the info. Call every tuesday morning, check the shortcuts and the flowchart to familiarize with the process. Welcome aboard!

NVC will receive your I-129F petition but unless you clearly indicated you wanted Consular service on your I-130, it will not be sent to NVC. It will be held until it is needed during the adjustment of status process. Yes, your next opportunity to interact with the process will be when the beneficiary receives information from the Consulate abroad.
