I was told that our case was sent to the Consulate in Morocco on August 1st by an operator @ NVC. She said that we would receive information soon about our interview in the mail. All along I'm assuming that the Consulate in Casablanca will be scheduling our inteview. Two days later, I head off to Morocco all smiles thinking that maybe he would hear something about our interview during my 12 day visit. I returned two days ago bummed out that we had not heard anything and found a few posts here on VJ about NVC scheduling interviews for certain consulates. I called the NVC and after waiting 10 minutes on the phone a very rude man proceeded to tell me that no our case was never forwarded to the Consulate and that the NVC is in the process of scheduling interviews this week. He told me to call back towards the end of the week and we should have a date. Mind you I'm still ticked that I was given misinformation about the case being forwarded to the Consulate already the first of the month. But I'm thinking okay I will call back and hopefully we will go ahead and have our date scheduled.

I just got off the phone with the NVC, and a woman who does not speak good english just told me that all the interviews have already been scheduled for the month of September and "sorry" but I will have to call back mid September to find out if we will have a date for October. #######?? I am so freaking mad. I can't believe that they have such idiots working there who give out false information in the first place and then turn around and screw us out of an interview.

Our case was completed July 16th. How in the heck did they already schedule all the interviews for the month of September?

Aaaaaaarghhhhhhhhh I needed to vent.

I feel your pain. Our case was completed on July 13th and I am waiting to see if we have been scheduled for an interview in September. I am sorry that you are having to experience this, but know that there are a lot of people in the same boat.

Thanks JA_TAM. I just looked at your time line and I feel really bad for complaining since you have waited one year since you filed your petition.

I'm just so annoyed at the thought of them giving us false information, building our hopes up and then knocking us down again without so much as an explanation or apology. What kind of information have they been giving you? The operator I talked to today told me that the interviews for September have already been scheduled for everyone. That all scheduling has been completed. I hope that she is wrong, there's always a good chance that she is considering that 95% of their staff have no idea of what they're talking about.

I totally understand the frustrations. I have been there many times and have been forced to learn patience  . I feel bad having to tell you that I have been scheduled for a September interview and up to this point, they had been telling me that they were still scheduling the interviews.

I think it is irresponsible that they told you the file had been sent to the embassy, only to hear now that they still have it at the NVC. Right before they completed our case, they switched their policies and began holding on to our files until after the interviews had been scheduled in Jamaica. This is probably what happened with the Moroccan embassy and so I am keeping my fingers crossed that you will be scheduled soon.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I really don't want to play Devil's Advocate especially with the NVC, but I believe what's happened is that they have changed the process for many embassies just recently and that's why you got wrong info. The process used to be that the NVC completed the case, sent it to the embassy and the embassy would then schedule the interviews. Now they complete the case, they schedule the interviews and then send the case to the embassy. The process changed for Colombia in April and Tamieka said they changed it for Jamaica in June.

The NVC told me on Wednesday that they always schedule interviews the second week of the month for the following month. I was hopeful to get a September interview since our case was completed on 8/8/07, but seeing that yours was completed on 7/16/07 and didn't get one in September, we probably didn't get one either. I'll call them tonight to find out. If not, I'll have to call them after the second week of September for our October interview.

BTW, congrats Tamieka!!!! You finally got it!

Where did you find this information? I would like to know if the Helsinki embassy (in Finland) still schedules its own interviews, since the Helsinki embassy has a reputation of being extra quick. After all this frustrating waiting, I really don't want to wait a week longer if I don't have too :(...

If you use the following link http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3734.html you will be able to see which consulates are scheduled by the NVC, following the changes. Good luck.

Guess what guys,

I called the NVC today from work and talked to another operator. I asked her why we did not get an interview date and she says that we already have one scheduled for September 6th @8 am. What the !@$&% is going on in the NVC? This proves my point that these people are a bunch of idiots.

I am very thankful that we did get the interview scheduled but September 6th is less than 3 weeks away. It takes at least 3 weeks for my husband to recieve mail from the US, sometimes more. Does anyone know if you can go to the interview without the appointment letter?

Opening another can of worms here......

BTW, congrats to you Diana and JA Tam on your interviews as well! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!

See... I KNEW you were going to get an interview in September. Congratulations.

Anyway, I don't know how things work for Morocco, but in Colombia we need the appointment letter to get the lab and medical stuff done. They won't do it without it.

The process used to be that the NVC completed the case, sent it to the embassy and the embassy would then schedule the interviews. Stabu,

I just checked the DOS link and it shows that your embassy hasn't changed their process. Any time the link shows that an embassy is asking for extra documents to be sent to the NVC along with the DS-230 and passport bio data page, means that they have changed their scheduling process. But you're fine. :)

OMG, from what I have heard with our own interview, you will need the interview letter to schedule the medical and to get into the embassy for the interview. I hope you get the letter soon! Check to see if your husband can go to the embassy to pick up Packet 4 which will have all the information you will need.
