Interview Date Set

I have my interview date set on September 12. I'm wondering if Vancouver U.S Embassy can move it on a sooner date. probably, week before that. Do they accept any changes? I asked for August 28, 2007 but they gave me the 12th of September. I wonder why... all my papers are ready, i just need my medical exam this wednesday and that's it.

You can ask, but September 12th may have been the soonest available date. They can only accomodate four K visa applicants per day. Honestly, you're lucky to get September considering how long people on the east side of the country are waiting about 6 months for an interview date through Montreal.

Yup, never hurts to call and ask if they can accomodate your request. Would a later date help? You could also ask if they cannot schedule you in earlier if they can get you a later date.

Hey, my interview is on Sept. 12 too.

I faxed in my checklist last week and asked for an interview date of August 27 or that week if possible. Since both of us asked for the last week of August and both of us got Sept. 12, I think we can say that Sept. 12 is the earliest they can schedule us.

Related to that, I see that the thread starter is doing a K-3. I'd thought that only Montreal did K-3s in Canada, but at my medical on August 1, I met a woman doing a K-3 who will also have her interview in Vancouver. Apparently some K-3s are now going through Vancouver. That's good for K-3s, but it may also be the reason that we have to wait until September 12 for our interviews.

Nope! Vancouver has always done K3s (I did my K3 there). It's CR-1s/IR-1s that only Montreal does.

Like I mentioned, Vancouver can only accomodate a total of four K visas per day (K1s or K3s). They are still pretty damn speedy though and have consistently scheduled interviews for about 1 month from receipt of checklist. Sometimes people get lucky and a slot opens up sooner (like in Stacey33's case).

If you don't ask, for sure the date won't change!! Never hurts to try, all they can do is say no

Wish you good luck. A quich question on your I-130. Your signature shows it is on hold. Is still at NVC or did you ask them to send it back to USCIS for the AOS processing?

NVC. My husband and i have not talked about it yet wether to go for CR1 - which is i need to go back to my home country. If not, proceed with AOS. Right now, we are just looking forward to being together. (",)

mamalovesdada, you've time to think about whether you want to pursue the CR-1 or AOS. Hey, if you do pursue the CR-1 to go back to the Philippines, you could make a nice vacation out of the trip.

Are you in the US now? Your K-3 nterview is in a few days so i am a bit confused about you still wanting to pursue a CR-1.

yes, my k3 interview is in 3 days and i am really anxious at the same time worried of the outcome.

I'm thinking of doing CR1, i'll wait in the states with my husband while the process is still going. If i'll have my interview date then i'll go back to my home country atleast, if i get approved, i'll have my immigrant visa and not worry about adjusting status.

I am still confused but i am no immigration lawyer. never heard of people going to K-3 interview and then changing to a CR-1. Usually, after the k-3 interview, you enter the US and then apply for a GC by adjusting status and using the approved I130. This is not CR-1.

There have been other K3'ers on VJ that went back for the CR-1 interview after the K3. less paperwork and hassles i guess, and maybe less $$$, not sure, but others have done the same.
