That's Jodo who thinks Zaki Awass is sexy. I just watched something with him in it a couple days ago and I still don't get that one. To each his own about what's sexy. I find some questionable ppl sexy (Jack White and Gerard Way).

This thread was certainly a distraction. There were sweets and handsome men galore! Nice therapy!

Thank you all for the support here. I am starting to feel the reality of my situation as I make plans and talk of the future. I don't want to go out, I sit in the house and stare at walls most of the time. I know I have to start living again, just don't when is the proper time. :help: Is it too soon to do things? I just don't know. If I go out and have fun, will it seem like I wasn't committed to my marriage? Can I go out? Man, this is hard. I haven't heard his voice in over a month, I don't think he's coming back.

Take baby steps, Jackie. I wouldn't get out in the dating world just yet but I would start going out with the girls. Maybe meet up for happy hour (you don't have to drink alcohol if you're not into it) or coffee in the evening. My divorce was a different circumstance than yours so I wasn't really on the hurting end of it. I was way over it even before the divorce happened. I was ready to have girls night out since I missed out on it for so many years. Maybe getting out there with the girls is just what you need. That upcoming concert sounds like a great start.

There is no set time and no one will judge you for going out now. It's been a month right?

Go out and do fun things. If it doesn't seem fun in the middle of doing the fun things, go home and try again another day. Eventually you'll feel the joy of having a good time again without the pangs.

In my experience, 'firsts' are the hardest thing. The first time you go to the beach without him, first time celebrating a holiday (those are the hard ones). Each first is a milestone though and when it's a second, it won't be as bad or even bad at all.

I was married for about as long as you were and it took me 3 full months to start getting on with my life, but then again I had a one and two year old so it made life a lot more difficult. I think I started dating again around 6 months. Just follow your gut and do what you want to do and if it makes you happy then go for it.:dance: If it doesn't then put a halt to it and try again later.

To everything there is a season. I don't think anyone would tell you that it is wrong for you to get out and laugh and have fun. They say that laughter is the best medicine, and if it helps heal your heart, then where is the harm?

My life has been blessed with the love of 4 of the sweetest men in the world. James, Jonathan, Nicolas, and Islam, my sons and my S/O.

OPSSSSSSS I DID IT AGAIN!

We're not living in Gone With the Wind where you have to wear widow's weeds for a year. :) Going out and having fun and enjoying your own life is not a bad thing. No need to try to date, obviously, that's not what I mean, but there's no reason to isolate yourself. Coffee, comedy clubs, whatever floats your boat.

I totally agree with this. And I also think that she should stay far far far away from men right now.
