I just wanted to touch in with all of you in this forum.

It's January 16, and there have been NO approvals out of the Texas Service Center since December.

So, basically half the month has gone by, and none of us have been approved....

Just wanted to clarify...

Not surprised. The official *cough*lyingthroughtheirteeth*cough* processing time released in December moved ahead only one day from the one released in November. They seem to be permanently stuck adjudicating random petitions from the first half of February 2007, which I'm sure must drive you in particular nuts, being so close and all.

I am beginning to wonder if I should go ahead and contact my senator now because maybe he can inquire abt all this waiting and how come ppl who file with TSC and get transferred to CSC in October get approved before the ones who filed in January-June at TSC. My husband and I are due to file for Naturalization in April and still no 10 yr green card to copy to include in paperwork.

By the way what if he dont get my husband's 10-yr green card by April can we file without it and what can we use in its place.

The problem with you or I contacting a senator or doing a service inquiry is that we're still within the posted processing time, which shows that TSC is (at least as of Dec. 14) working on I-751s with an NOA1 of April 8, 2007. Therefore, the answer you're bound to get is that you are still within the processing time.

I'm assuming you filed your I-751 close to 90 days before the expiration of the conditional green card, which would mean that your NOA1 extension letter should still be good until July. If you still haven't gotten a permanent card by the end of June, your husband should make an InfoPass appointment and get an I-551 stamp in his passport.

Hi. I'm reading through this thread, because we are still awaiting my husband's conditions to be lifted. The NOA is sometime last February. He called for a status update as listed above, and they eventually sent a letter that basically said, "It's not completed yet." What a joke. No explanation, no apology. They didn't even look at it.

So... what happens when the 1-year extension (granted by the NOA) expires? It will soon.

But there's no doubt that even if your I-751 has not been adjudicated, you can go right ahead and apply for citizenship 90 days before your third anniversary (i.e., a year after you were allowed to petition to have the conditions removed).

I thought the 3-year mark applied to the green card, not to the wedding anniversary. For instance, we wed in December '04 and he got the green card in May '05. I thought we had to wait until Feb '08 to apply for citizenship.

I was referring to the anniversary of receiving your green card, not the anniversary of your marriage. That's what I meant to when I said "a year after you were allowed to petition to have the conditions removed" -- you are allowed to petition to remove conditions 90 days before the second anniversary of having received your green card.

You're five hours from J-ville? Gotta be in Pensacola or thereabouts. (I'm getting deja vu -- didn't we have this conversation before?)

Anyway, hopefully he will get his card before you have to consider the road trip. He probably will -- NOA1s from February 2007 are next up to be approved in TSC. I can't imagine they won't clear that month of NOA1s by the time May rolls around. Then again, we are talking TSC here . . . .

I don't know why but I called in to the helpless USCIS line on Friday 1/18 and put in another service request. It was amazing the hear the operator read from the scripts as we went through our conversations. Every time I asked her a question she delayed as if looking for the right script to read back to me.

I tried to explain to her that my wife's application had been turned over to the Atlanta District office but I believe my words fell on deaf ears. When calling into the automated system i gave them the old Texas receipt number for my wife's application as that was the only one that would allow me to proceed through the options. So when the operator inputted the case number into her computer I really cant say where the service request will finally end up.

Most likely it will bounce from Texas to Atlanta.

The instructions just ask for a "photocopy of both sides of your Permanent Resident Card," so I believe you would just have to send in a copy of the two-year green card if you don't have the ten-year card yet.

Although that raises a couple of other questions, such as whether you would have to send in a copy of the ten-year card when you get it, as well as what do you do if you've gotten an I-551 stamp in the passport and were required to surrender the two-year card. Probably best left for a discussion in the Naturalization forum.

Naturalization isn't pressing for us anymore because of the huge backlog -- there's no way my wife will get a chance to vote this fall. So we'll probably wait until the backlog clears a bit.
