I keep looking at that letter my wife received about her file being moved to our local office in Atlanta.

Well today I noticed a new receipt number on the letter. Keep in mind that this is a simple form letter printed out on plain printer paper with the blanks simply filled in with the correct name, A#, etc.

I tried to enter the receipt number on the USCIS web site under my account but of course the computer said the number was no good. It is an SRC number.

This keeps getting more interesting.

That's a TSC number all right. I have no idea why they would assign you a new number before shipping the file off to your local office.

I know you said you were going to wait a few days, but I'd make that Info Pass appointment right away. You can always cancel it or just not go if by some remote chance you're suddenly approved before the appointment. Although I don't know how you would find that out other than by snail mail at this point.

I had also thought about that but then I discovered something interesting. When making an Info Pass appointment it tells you what address to go to. When I did a trial appointment for my wife's case the only address it would allow us to go to is some service center in Atlanta which is not the actual Atlanta regional office. However as I stated before the address on the letter to send all correspondences to is the actual Atlanta district office on MKL Jr. Drive. I don't really know what good it would to us in the interim to just go to another service center where all they will tell us is what's in the computer.

At least they might be able to tell you what's going on, that is, why the petition was transferred to a local office and what to expect. Also, I know USCIS is building a couple of satellite local offices to take the pressure of the main local office in Miami proper . . . maybe they've done the same thing in Atlanta.

Meh

I just got off the phone with the USCIS National Customer Service Center. I decided to call and ask them why my wife's application was sent back to the Atlanta District office. The operator that picked up was nice and friendly although she did sound as if she was talking from a computer screen in a monotone voice.

Anyone see that movie "Idiocracy" with Owen Wilson? Remember that part of the movie when he was being led to the testing center to see how smart he was....so he could get a jail job...The guard in that scene reminded me of the lady answering the phone. Or, she reminded me of him...."ok sir...were here to determine how smart you are so you can be a particular individual with a job while in jail"....

The CSR was able to confirm one thing for me. My wife's application was sent back to the Atlanta office because she is going to be called back in for a second interview prior to being approved. Looks like I will need to get the files back out and have plenty of copies ready to go!

While a pain in the butt, at least it looks like there will be action on your case.

I'd take that over sitting and waiting while nothing happens any day.

God Luck!

I really thought we'd be seeing some movement here with all of the people we have bunched up with early February NOA1s after fragile's approval. I mean, she had a 1/31 NOA1 and was approved almost a month ago. So you'd think someone from the early February crowd would have been approved by now.

I guess they just pulled hers out by accident when they were forced by Senator Cornyn to approve JLR's, and didn't put it back in the box that they returned to the janitorial closet in the basement men's room.

My personal theory regarding those two approvals is simply that they've contacted their Texas senators.....

Oh, yeah, I forgot that Francesca was in Texas. I thought she hadn't heard anything back from her senator, though. Guess she didn't need to.

I can't even contact my senator b/c I'm still within the processing time. If they keep that time in early April as they have for the past two months, TSC can just keep stringing me along.

On a related note, I read on another forum (the British expats) a comment by someone who recently had an InfoPass at a local Texas office, and was told that TSC had been swamped by N400 filings just prior to the fee increase, and had put all of the I-751s on the back burner so they could handle the N400s (which they're still not doing a very good job of). The poster was told that TSC would not get to the I-751s until sometime in the first quarter of 2008, meaning a year-plus wait for some people . . . .

Woooooo hoooooo!!!! Success!!!!

I just want to say that there is hope out there for all the TSC’rs. I have been lurking on the TSC thread for months now and nothing, nothing, nothing. I, too, have been waiting forever, and just today we found out that my husband’s card was ordered.

His NOA date was February 5, 2007 and his biometrics were March 21, 2007, with the last touch being on March 24, 2007. I kept thinking Dear God don’t let us get an RFE or an interview – we naturally, like everyone else, hate to have to go in and open up our private lives - again, for some disinterested immigration officer.

Today, I took a moment to go to his email and was shocked when I saw a notice from CRIS. My heart stopped when I realized that he was approved. This really has to be the best Christmas present, or Chanukah (if I was Jewish), as today is the first day of Chanukah. We have called everyone we know to tell them the great news. We’re so excited because now we can apply for citizenship next month.

I wish you all the best. Don’t give up hope. Stay strong and fight the TSC power.

Wow, a closet TSC Loser®!!!

In the immortal words of a certain poster:

Congratulations

Seriously, I'm happy for you and yours -- and that the TSC might actually be moving.

Tweety, how's your theory doing??? :P

I'd been wondering if you had heard anything since you have the same NOA1 date as our closet Loser. Looks like you are next to go! Are you checking the USCIS case status site hourly?

Thanks for adding us to the list of proud Losers. Our mailing date was 1/27/07. Also, I will say that although I was scared we were going to get RFE'd, we did send in a lot of financial documentation such as property appraiser bill with both of our names, life insurance policies, auto insurance cards, bank statements from joint account, drivers licenses reflecting our home address and same names, etc. We only had two affidavits, mom and sister, and no pictures. Our whole goal was to put out anything and everything that showed that our lives are comingled. :D

One more thing, we did call the main customer service line two months ago and early last week we received a letter saying that nothing had happened in our case. I don't know, maybe it spurred things along.

We are just pleased as punch though and can't be more excited to have this done.
