I guess you can take my name off of the TSC looser list as my case has been sent back to my local office. I am no longer waiting on the TSC. It's funny though, my on-line status still hasn't changed since my last touch on 3/15 for my Bio.

Received my wife's green card over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Opened the envelope and the her name was correct but USCIS included her maiden name. Not really sure if we should file a I-90 to correct the error or just leave as is. Her conditional green card was correct. Any thoughts on this new problem.

I had the crazy idea my wife would be able to vote in the presidential election next year, then I realized TSC would be handling her N400. Maybe it will be done in time for the 2012 election.

Well, well, aren't our friends at TSC a piece of work? My first thought would be to have it corrected, too -- if this was a USCIS error, there's no filing fee. However, you have to give up the incorrect card and send it with the I-90 to . . . TSC. They're taking "6 months" to process I-90s right now. I imagine that means you would have to get an InfoPass appointment so you could get an I-551 stamp in the passport . . . .

A thought related to all this TSC mess just crossed my mind this morning.

In order for me to get the US citizenship and retain my German one, I will have to apply to German authorities for a certain document. Now this document is only valid for 24 months; given that TSC is processing N400 (as they say) within 16-18 months....; and the fact that I will have to get the document before I apply for US citizenship.... will there be enough time for my document not to expire before I take the oath? I think I will have to wait for the processing times to go down again, before I will jump into the naturalization adventure... now that is really messed up.

Well today I noticed a new receipt number on the letter. Keep in mind that this is a simple form letter printed out on plain printer paper with the blanks simply filled in with the correct name, A#, etc.

I tried to enter the receipt number on the USCIS web site under my account but of course the computer said the number was no good. It is an SRC number.

This keeps getting more interesting.

That's a TSC number all right. I have no idea why they would assign you a new number before shipping the file off to your local office.

I know you said you were going to wait a few days, but I'd make that InfoPass appointment right away. You can always cancel it or just not go if by some remote chance you're suddenly approved before the appointment. Although I don't know how you would find that out other than by snail mail at this point.

For the benefit of the Losers chart, my last touch was 04/11/2007 - I had my biometrics done a few days before that (not sure off the top of my head without digging up the paperwork).

You can always cancel it or just not go if by some remote chance you're suddenly approved before the appointment. I had also thought about that but then I discovered something interesting. When making an Info Pass appointment it tells you what address to go to. When I did a trial appointment for my wife's case the only address it would allow us to go to is some service center in Atlanta which is not the actual Atlanta regional office. However as I stated before the address on the letter to send all correspondences to is the actual Atlanta district office on MKL Jr. Drive. I don't really know what good it would to us in the interim to just go to another service center where all they will tell us is what's in the computer.
