That depends on where your application is processed. You get the certificate at the oath ceremony and some are arranged very quickly (Portland can do the interview and ceremony same day), others it is some weeks after the interview.

What to expect at the POE - WIKI entry

It depends on the local center you are going through. Denver has 2 ceremonies a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Check your local office to find out when you might have your ceremony.

Are you serious? Just 2? I have a friend who had the ceremony in January at the same office where I`m going to take the test. She said there was two groups of people-one st 8AM, another one-in the afternoon. She told me that the crouds were huge. I don`t want to wait again to get the certificate :crying:

It sounds like Denver is a smaller city than the one you live in. There weren't that many people when I had my ceremony and they even had it in the Immigration offices, very icky. But oh well, beggars can't be choosers.

I think hers was at a college or something like that, she said it took 4 hours. I though they sen certificates in the mail, and she said that they gave them theirs right there. Did you get yours at the ceremony?

Yes, they'll call everyone one by one and hand you the certificate that same day. If there is a ton of people, you can imagine how long it will take to call each person. It's just like a high school/college graduation, without the robes and silly hats. :)
