Take the next couple of months off from sending anything. Tell them or your fiancee that you just don't have any money to send at this time. See what the reaction is. If there's no friction about it, from either your fiancee or her family, then you can continue on without sending anything any further. That should tell you that they're fine without your financial help. If there's ANY friction about it, from either your fiancee or her family, that will tell you if you've being viewed as a sugar-daddy or not.

Like what the other says $700/monthly is really a lot. Especially in the status of just being "engaged".

Well, in the FIlipino culture it is very rampant - the sometimes what we call "unlimited" support in the family members. Actually, this started in a simple gratitude of being family oriented country. But sad to say, a lot of people is taking this as an excuse to pass of what should be their own responsibility.

Even if your fiancee (together with her family) has a life style that requires this certain amount but STILL its not proper that you provide it to them in a consistent basis..This may be a help initially but doing this in an schedule manner is A LOT DIFFERENT.

I know, this will be hard for you now to discuss with your fiancee. But lets face it, this kind of issue should be discuss even before the marriage.

I found this nice tool that will be a great help to furtherly discuss things before saying "I DO" to your partner.

I hope this will help you in some way....
