Best method of checking case status

I've sent an e-mail about my case to the NVC since it's been a week since my NOA2 on our K1 petition. I sent it on Sunday night and have yet to receive a reply. On the NVC's contact information they stated that e-mail is their preferred method, but is it really that efficient in comparison to calling?

So! My question basically is:

Is e-mailing for case status to the NVC recommended?

What is the estimated time is takes to receive a reply?

Should we all just forget about e-mailing and call in?

I did call in on Monday afternoon just to check, but I was a little bit hopeful that when my case does arrive (I was told it hadn't) that I'll receive a reply to my e-mail.

Thanks for taking the time to help us out! :)

K1 cases don't last very long at the NVC because they are forwarded to the embassy. Right now they are very behind on replying e-mails so your best bet is to call them, everyday if you have to. That way you cannot only find out what your case # at the NVC is, but also when they sent it to the embassy.

Thank you very much! I'll be giving them a call then. At least their call center is muuuuuuch easier to call than CSC. (which was only open during the time I work- so I had to call on my lunch break -_-)
