E, I am so so sad. In fact, I am sad-furious. I have a lump in my throat the size of a watermelon. I want to scream and throw things. I want to lay down and bawl my eyes out. I want to yell and curse. I hate that I am so freaking far away. I hate that I have no friends here to go for a walk or a coffee with. I hate it I hate it I HATE IT!!!!

So do it girl.. let it out..scream and cry and do what you need to do to get your grief out. I'm so sorry that you are there alone - We're here gal, so sorry we can't be there in person.. *sigh.. frustrating on our end too :(

Will you be able to get back for the funeral? Or are you thinking you were just there? gah.. this leaving home & country sucks at times like this

I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do, yet. The funeral's this weekend. But I was just there so I don't know. Plus my uncle is still hanging in there.... even though the cancer is in his bones and brain now..... so I'll need to go home for that. So if I go back now I'd want to stay for my uncle's funeral. But we've got to go to SC & GA at the end of the month for a wedding. GAWD. At times like these I wish I'd never moved here.

Thanks Julez, Trailmix, and Sprailenes. (F)

naturalization interview this morn!! I passed, BUT....... damn extra file, lol not a biggy! Otherwise, i would have had the oath today as well! Actually better it worked this way, as I have an exam tomorrow.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I can only hope that you do not remain angry at yourself for where you are...nor take it out on yourself.

Believe me, I know of what I speak...

Big virtual hugs!

Just got back with my partner from visiting my family and friends in Montreal.

We flew.

Getting back in with my new "green" card was a snap.

Everything coming back was a snap.

Fun even, with customs at Dorval (P.E.Trudeau).

That was good.

The trip itself was emotional...seeing my parents for the first time since we signed a marriage certificate.

And no matter how I try to tell them that we have not had our "wedding" yet, as we were not ready, and the timing was the worst, they cannot hear that.

Oh well, I am used to not being understood....not that I like it.

Well, my close friends get me, and so...

all is well as can be for the moment.

So many hardships in so many people's lives: physical and mental health. Both.

I need to take my vitamins!

Thanks Spirit and Flames. (F)

Okay, I've pulled myself together. Spoke with my daughter.... somehow that made me feel better. She says she'll go to the funeral for me and I should stay here and just go up for my uncle's funeral. I guess it helps to have someone to talk to. Thanks guys. You're the best. (F) (F) (F)

I'm going to go take my vitamins now, too, Spirit. Thanks for reminding me. They're Stresstabs. I think I need one.
