YO FLAMES!!!! LOVE MY AVATAR OR WHAT?????????????????????????

She must be a popular girl that "Starbucks!!"

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

So my Husband went to the DMV in Daytona Beach today - why drive an hour to get a DL you ask? Well the nearest office didn't have an apt. available until Monday and the next nearest one is like 35 mins away, so he figured he would just drive the 45 minutes to Daytona, at least he would get to see the beach!

I miss being able to just do license stuff at the registry office nearby - I would have gone to get my FL license today too, but too hot for me!

Oh and he had a choice of 2 licenses. He could keep his Alberta license if he got a 'Florida only' license - but if he wanted the - you can drive with this license anywhere in the U.S. - they had to cut the corner off his Alberta license - which they did. So high handed I think. However the person who actually processed the license for him was very nice!

He needed the FL license before Monday as he has a 1 month contract job setting up computers for polling stations for some election in Orange County.

But anyway, here are some pics!

We have all these tropical plants surrounding the deck, ferns in the front and these big leafed plants on the side. The big leaf plants, some of the vines have crept under the frame - that's how le snake slithered out, so i assume that's how he got in - although there was a small spot where the screen had come away at the front.

I say 'was' as my Husband siliconed under the side piece yesterday and secured the front piece.

Hey everyone,

Sorry I've been MIA with the wedding madness ensuing...

THis is for a gift for one of our guests:

I'm looking for stores that sell carrom boards in the Washington DC or Arlington, VA area..

I'm still new to the area and I"m not sure if there are any "Indian areas" in town like how some cities have "chinatown" that would sell the board..

2.jpg

(plus I'd like to buy one for myself too later!)

Any guidance would be much appreciated!!
