Gooooood morning Canada!!!!

Kudos Liz on the NOAs, Carlawarla on the interview.

I'm sitting at my office sipping my home made coffee (yup, that's me, the frugal queen), realizing I forgot my fukcing lighter at home  so will have to bum a light form the only professor who smokes in this inni bitty department. ARGHHHHHHH. :girlwerewolf2xn:

I'm sorry, but the lighter rant belongs in The Vent Thread. Please keep things neat and tidy over here in Off Topic. Thank you. :hehe:

Good call Presidente Crickey!!! U should run for government, u have a knack for politics!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Crikey... I love you sister, but never, never ever mess with this crazy smoker and her lighter :ranting: he he

My secretary (sweetie and gay as pie) must have noticed my insanity, because he just waltzed in (he ALWAYS waltzes... ALWAYS) with a brand new hideously green Bic lighter. That would do.

Back to being nice now :luv:

Hey all! I just got back from my interview...WOW!! The interview was FANTASTIC, and I'm going to LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! this job!! It's a patient advocate job with the Long Term Care Ombudsman's office. I will be assigned two nursing homes and go in two 1/2 days a week. This is volunteer work...can you imagine if they paid me??? Anyway, that's not the point. It sounds like EXACTLY what I'm suited for, and something I'm going to LOVE!! I start training 10 March 2008. I am SO happy!! :)

wooo hooo, we are on page 199 of the off topic thread! Maybe there should be a prize for the first post on page 200 - like a box of kraft dinner!

Speaking of food, when I was making stir fry like a week and a half ago, I was standing by the stove, had been cooking a while and then FIRE!!

Dinner is ready honey!

But really, it surprised me, fire coming up from behind the pan (started in the well of the element). Sheesh.
