Enjoy your time with Nick. I remember those times as well...the excitement and all. I'm like Mephys too, I don't miss the missing part. Even now, when I remember those months in between visits, I still hurt. But hey, we both knew there was an end to this whole crazy journey...and that's what held us together...and we made it! :D

Thanks guys!

I'm sure we'll have a great time!

I'm looking forward to the time when I don't need a plane to see him.

Looks like I'm the first one up this morning? :innocent: I get up with Gene at 5 am to make sure he eats some breakfast and make his lunch. Yesterday I went to the grocery store at 3:30 pm and it was jammed. I saw all the cars there and thought..."forget this!!!". So, it's 6:20 a.m. and I've showered and I'm thinking I"m going to head off to the grocery store this morning. We're having an open house Saturday night, and I need lots of things! Open house as in .... sharing food, drink, music, good times...we're not moving or anything! Anyway, I"m thinking that the grocery store isn't going to be busy at this time of morning! Wish me luck!

I'm up too. Usually Joel and I are both up at the same time for work. I'm off until January 8 but I still wanted to get up and see him off. He doesn't like breakfast this early, nor does he want coffee. Anywho, I brewed me some Timmy's and I sit here with a nice hot cuppa.

Discussion: What has been the craziest (silliest, idiotic, etc.) thing that's been said to you since your arrival in the States (or has been said to your USC husband/wife)?

Co-worker: So your husband is from Canada...which state?

Me: You mean province?

Cw: Oh, they don't have states there?

Me: Um...no. They're called provinces. He's from Nova Scotia.

CW: Ah...so, does he speak Canadian?

Me: ( ) Uh...well, he speaks English. (How does one respond to that?)

CW: Oh, I just thought they spoke Canadian.

Me:

BTW, my coworkers are teachers....scary!

Stereotypes. Yeah, I know they're everywhere. And no, my husband doesn't say "eh" after every sentence. He gets that a lot too. *shakes head and laughs*

What...you mean you haven't a ranch full of cows?

 There are times though when I am talking to D that I start thinking that Canadian and American *are* different languages!

Aside from the do you live in igloos, use sled dogs, etc. type comments, D hasn't been asked anything too crazy. I did have a friend who told a girl that he was from New England. To which she responded, "Oooh, I have always wanted to go to Europe." Stupid cow.
