Good morning! I didn't send any statements or bills with the AOS application. Statements and bills are the types of evidence you bring during the AOS interview, not for the initial application. I did included all tax transcripts for the I-864.

maguilart is filing to lift conditions, not the initial AOS so there are different requirements.

I had read different tips and the one I used was to send one bank statement from every 6 months over the past 2 years, to show the continuous joint account since the conditional GC was approved. If you don't have that, just try to send one from the furthest back you have, and then a few recent also.

maguilart,

Rodjanaa sent 2 bank statements for our joint account - the first one and the most recent one (a span of 3 years). No bills.

Junk mail having both names on it is excellent evidence of a joint life - the source is totally outside the control of the couple, but indicates that the couple has been living life as a couple. (Thank you Mr. F)

We sent one joint bank statement, one shared credit card bill, and one shared cell phone bill with an itemized list of all calls we made, showing how many times we had called each other that month. We picked somewhat random months for each of the bills, so that, when looking at the statements and bills together with the other evidence, the entirety of our evidence did a reasonable job of spanning the entirety of the previous two years.

One thing they like to see is evidence spread out somewhat over time, instead of all evidence being recent or all evidence being old.

We had our child's birth certificate, as well, so we weren't terribly concerned about being denied, but we included the statements and bills to help "fill out" the picture. We might have been more diligent about including more thorough coverage of bills if we had had less other evidence.

We sent the last 3 months bank statements, and randomly pick some statement over the past 2 years.

Our Join account

Our mortgage bill( For the past few months my wife wrote the mortgage payment as such we had receipt of those payments, so we sent copies of the check that we downloaded from the online banking website)

A couple of utility bills

Insurance papers and medical insurance showing my wife on my policy as beneficiary,

Copy of insurance cards with both of our names on them. Who on their right mind if the relationship is not real would go through all those documentations?

Past 2 years income taxes, a few paystubs showing our status as married, and that was it.

We didn't send no letter from friends, relative and so on.

Gone but not Forgotten!
