we are planning to start the process for k1.

I know that it takes a lot of time,.

but i just wanted to know how fast does the centre tell us that something is missing in the application(RFE) and how much delay can it cause.suppose we file in august end,when will we come to know that everything went ok and now the processing will take its own time

That can depend on which centre you are filing at but at CSC they receive your petition, cash your cheque, issue you a notice and then put it on the shelf for about 3-4 months. When it reaches the front of the queue then it is assigned to a service agent who will look at it any either approve it, issue an RFE or deny it. It is worth checking out the posts of Huskerkiev to find out what actually happens at the centre. He used to work there and answered quite a few questions a few months ago.

Yeah, the timelines show about 3-4 months before RFEs are sent out
