I keep bugging my fiancee to come to Canada with me in a couple of years. Does anyone else want to go back to Canada?

I HATE miles, gallons, pints, words spelled without u's, and all that other jazz...

02/25 Received Welcome letter in mail

02/28 Green card arrived in mail. Done with USCIS for now

02/23 Received NOA

03/08 Card production ordered

Apparently nobody else ever feels this way. Yet I see other threads (which people answer) that are very similar to this one. Thanks for the "responses".

2007-06-05: AOS interview letter date

2007-06-13: AOS interview letter received in mail

2007-07-03: EAD card production ordered

2007-07-07: EAD card received! (yay!)

2007-08-23: AOS interview (Documents / Interview review)

2007-08-23: Green card production ordered!!!

I rarely venture out of the Canadian forum anymore,lol I just got back from a month long stay in Saskatoon. I'm sure my wife and I would move back if we could. But her line of work just isn't available in Canada.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Joe, don't get your panties in a wad...no one's 'ignoring' you.

The weekends are also slow as many VJ during work hours :lol: Not to mention the already mentioned forum placement issues...

However, since I'm here...no, my fiance's not here yet, but I spent 3 years there with him. It was a wonderful experience, and I'm so glad he was able to share his culture and homeland with me. I developed a deep understanding of his perspective, which will only make it easier to help him adjust when he's here.

No-I don't want to go back to Canada (only been to Toronto for a few weeks, and that was great-just don't want to live there). :thumbs::D

Who knows-maybe in afew years, your fiancee may indeed go back there with you.... It's great to get the chance to live in a different country or culture...IMO [ha-of course].

Anyway, yes, lots of Canadians here do plan on going back after awhile (usually after they receive their U.S. citizenship). I know that's our plan!

Right now it made more sense for my husband's career here. Nope, not financially speaking but because he's only licensed in the U.S. I made way more money in Canada with my one income alone. With my skillset I can work anywhere, but he can't so... for now, we're here.

We probably will eventually. C. will be inheriting land and he'd like to retire there. But we're here until he gets his citizenship barring unforeseen circumstances as I really am not a fan of dealing with USCIS.

That's the plan Stan! We definately (ha! spelled it with an "A") plan on moving back ASAP. Probably when my husband gets his citizenship in a few years. Other than that, there's nothing else holding us here.

what are the reasons you want to move back to Canada though..?

My reasons (if you mean that as a question for everyone) are...I have no family here, just my daughter and my husband. All his family are back in Nova Scotia, friends too, not to mention that I adore the Maritimes. He wants to move back as well...he only immigrated here because I couldn't emigrate there due to custody issues with my daughter's DNA contributor. :wacko: Anywho...those are my reasons. :)

Well, I haven't even moved yet, but we both would love to live in Canada and may end up coming back, but we'll see... we're not going to worry about the future just yet... just hoping to finally get my interview so we can get married, lol!

March 6, 2007 - I-129F package sent

March 21, 2007 - I-129F NOA2

October 17, 2007 - K1 interview - approved

October 19, 2007 - K1 arrived in mail

October 21, 2007 - US entry

October 23, 2007 - Wedding day

November 27, 2007 - AOS, EAD, AP package sent

December 7, 2007 - Received all 3 NOA's for AOS, AP & EAD

December 10, 2007 - Received letter for biometrics appointment

January 2, 2008 - I-485 transferred to California

January 3, 2008 - Biometrics

January 16, 2008 - RFE for I-485

January 22, 2008 - RFE for I-485 arrived

January 23, 2008 - AP approved

January 25, 2008 - Case status finally updated: AP approved January 23!

January 31, 2008 - EAD card production ordered
