Yep you get them from the IRS. Tax return transcripts (Official IRS summary) are free and will meet USCIS requirements. I requested my transcripts by automated phone system and had them in hand in 7-10 days. Tax return copies are not free. I think they're around $30 each...they are actual copies of what you submitted to the IRS and someone has to research them, pull them, and physically copy them. Hope this helps.

For the K-3 visa, do I need three years of tax returns? I only have 2006, so does anybody know where I can get free copies of my tax returns? I'm assuming the IRS but I know they are not that dependable!

Thanks

Transcripts are preferred. Just google "IRS Transcripts"

Got a question for the VJers here:

If your income is not near the minimum guideline levels - let's say for the sake of argument between 75K and $150K/yr - Is there a need to bring anything other than the last filed ITR and proof that current employment situation hasnt changed?

Warm Regards,

Samby

One tax return is enough but why skimp. Getting transcripts if free. I would also bring a couple recent pay stubs. It may be overkill but you don't want them to ask for something you don't have and end up delayed.

One reason to 'skimp', is that going back 2 or 3 years will show a significantly different income picture and I dont want to spend time and energy to explain that when the previous year and current year show smooth sailing. This is the reason for my question if others have only provided last year ITR and current income verfication (ie w2, paystubs, etc). Thoughts? Thanks!

I agree with your reason for skimping. Based on the additional information, I would tend to go with just the one tax return, an employer letter and pay stubs.
