I'm getting married in Sept. 10, then we are applying for our k-3 visa. But before we can get married we have to go through a marriage course in S.pore, and I need some type of certification stating that I'm single and not married. Where do I go? What is the form I use? Any idea!

You can try to get something from your Secretary of State or county officials (if they are the ones who issue marriage licenses where you live).

Barring that, you can usually get such a document in the US Consulate abroad, for a small fee (less than $100).

I got married in Russia. All I did was type up a statement/affidavit that said:

I, <name>, hereby promise and affirm, that I am not married now, and have never been married, in the U.S.A. or any other country.

I signed it, took it to the notary, added an apostile at my Secretary of State, got it translated to the Russian language, and I was done. Total cost for me was about $20.00 (free notary at my bank, $15 for the apostile, and $5 for translation in Russia).

Later, I found out that they had a special form that I could have printed and done the same notary, apostile, and translation.

In any case, you might check with a local registration office in the country in which you're intending to marry. They might have a form ready for this, like Russia did.

Best wishes, and good luck!

If the course is through a Church/Religious institution, you could go to your Church/Temple/etc and ask them for one. I had to get one for Pre-cana (Pre-Marriage) classes before the Deacon would begin the classes.
