So as the title states I was told today that my case is now undergoing background checks....anyone know if this is close to the end of the thing or is this something they start with? Or is there no rhyme or reason at all??? The person I talked to was nice but at first tried to tell me that they werent even processing those dates yet...I was like yes you are...and they said oh well let me check...yes please duh!!!

Every now and then we see cases here on VJ that take longer than the usual filer to get through the service center. It can feel soooo awful because there doesn't seem to be any reason and everyone is just sailingn past you.

Is this something someone at CSC told you about the case?

aawwww..i wish I had words to comfort you. Maybe it's good you were able to work the sytem to get some kind of answer. And I can only add that while these cases are rare on VJ, those that have found themselves in this extra background check situation, they do get resolved and you wll be able to move forward.

I do hope you and your fiance find a way to deal with this extra stress! (F)

Well how do you define normal? While it is true what is happening to your case is not usual, it is normal for USCIS to select cases for extensive background checks. I really don't its a reflection of the validity of your case, just your is one of the ones selected.

One you are pass the CSC processing times listed on the website, you can press a little harder for a resoluton to your case. There was someone here who did this very thing several months back. I remember his name was Andy and he had a fiance in Poland and there are some threads you can research here on VJ that outline the steps he took to get his case resolved.

Anyone else here remember ?

Am I reading right that you applied in December 2006? If I am reading right than I feel horrible for you. I am sure that all will work out. Just find something fun and/or worthwhile to focus on and don't think about it constantly. I know that is easy for me to say, but I promise - It WILL help.

I remember. His name is AndyMisiu and he posted here about a week or two ago, before that he had not posted since early last fall, I do believe.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
