I probably wouldn't eat oxtail, chicken gizzards, goat, saltfish, so much coconut or white rice if I weren't married to a Jamaican.

I would kill for some jamaican food, we had one restaurant but they closed I was so bummed. Best jerked goat I ever had (easy slim its the spices and the way its cooked its not something nasty like you think). Unfortunately I cant eat anything with coconut, I also like oxtail, and saltfish. I would be happy to trade some homemade kielbasa(leave it alone slim) for some good goat.

Wow! Lot's of good stuff to reply to!

Bells is very good. I sampled some a few months ago but it's not so readily available that I'd be able to drink it often.

Jack-in-the-Box freaking ROCKS!!! Best fast food place EVER! Where else can you get tacos and egg rolls along with burgers and fries under the same roof? And that Sourdough Jack is one of the best sandwiches since the Monster Burger. (Since I haven't lived near the Gateway for a few years, I've had to make due with the Baconater.) Either way, I'd trade just about all the ethnic food in the world for our very own ethnic food right here in America - GREASE! I love that stuff. (I had the Jack on my antenna the whole time I lived in the 'Lou.)

As for my dirty mind? Yeah right! My wife can vouch for me, I've never once attempted to make her sample my jerked kielbasa. (Kroger sells the marinade if you don't believe me.)

I respectfully disagree. In-N-Out is the superior fast food burger. Not even a contest.

Chick-fil-a is good too.

Schotskys makes a good sandwich, but a bit too health conscious for my taste.

I can't comment on this as I've never experienced the joy of an In-N-Out burger. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though.

Did you just say the word "man" and "bordeaux" in the same sentence?

Ugh! That upsets my stomach. There are three types of "men" that are allowed to drink something rouge....

1. Frenchmen

2. Artists/Musicians along with Doctors/Lawyers/other professional types

3. Other than heterosexual men

If your guy isn't in one of these categories.... don't make his stomach hurt!

What about the metrosexuals?

See category 3.

Yeah, but jerked kielbasa is so good, sometimes I can't help but eat alone!

Before Anna I ate everything. Chinese, Mexican, Korean, Italian, Japanese, etc...

After Anna I eat everything but she prefers her own cooking. Since I love everything and her cooking is awesome my diet has changed to what ever she feels like making. Even her simplest dish buckwheat and meat fried in onion and garlic is very awesome. As a matter of fact she is almost tired of hearing me say how much I like whatever she makes. I tried to explain that I truly do love everything she makes.

Anyway I have lost 35 pounds since she has been here and some may say we are not eating well I think we are eating better now than I have since leaving home.

Salted herring and vegatables is awesome.

My wife's "healthy cooking" has helped me gain about 15 lbs.

My little 4'8" 95lb wife held this big fatso (6'2" 260 lb) down last night and made me eat half a Jack-in-the-box hamburger and some fries. Damn her :P

I've read the thread and the first thing that amazed me is that all the women here seem to be able to cook!

I admire that. I can't cook - never really learned to. My mother did that when I was a child, and when I was on my own, microwave and frozen dinners were my best friends :) It is still true to some extent, except for those occasions when my hubby cooks - he does a great job with that. He makes awesome meat loaf, tuna casserole, chicken&pineapple... just thinking about his cooking makes me hungry.

My husband's diet hasn't chnaged a tiny bit since we got together, but mine has. I eat a lot more fast food than I used to, I almost stopped eating veggies (never ate too many veggies though), and my favorites are tuna helper and frozen lasagna. I don't eat seafood unless we go out and get it at a restaurant, cause hubby's allergic to it.

I sometimes think that we should eat a healthier diet, but that would involve too much work on my part, and a possibility of me learning to cook, which at this point is unrealistic :D

My wife was curious and told me to post this new thread.

How many of you out there have now changed your diet since your wife (husband) has arrived in the U.S. and you're now living together?

I'm a pizza/hamburgers/coca-cola/beer kind of guy and haven't touched vegetables since my mom made me "eat three bites and you can be excused." But now, my wife's on me to "not eat such $#!TTY food." She' mixing in all types of green stuff and carrots and even some eggplant in my meat and potatoes. Have you're spouses done anything similar?

I know we touched on this in the cultural differences thread, but this one is just for food. More specifically, it's for the changes you've made (or haven't made) in your regualr eating habits since shacking up together. Please share!

I lost 13 kilos since the k1 process started!I am madly in love and wanted look great so worked my ### off every day at gym and dieting. My man is all fit and been working all this time out hard too:)He has italian blood and cooks so yum so dont think we will ever come across Mac donalds:)))lol

I d rather have some pasta..yummmmm
