She came to the US consulate around 8am. after all the standard procedures, she was interviewed at 11am . The translator is not very nice. he treated her like some type of subhuman, threw out all my paid stubs in June and the money transfer reciepts that she collected when she recieved money from me. Here are the questions:

1- What's the petitioner name ?

2- What year did he come to the US , under what program and with whom ?

3- How did we meet? Were we introduced by anyone?

4- Did he come back to visit you?

5- when was the first and last time that he come back to visit you?

6- What is his job?

7- What company does he work for ?

8- Where is he working at now?

9- What was the date that he proposed to you?

10- Where did he propose to you?

11- What was your engaged date ?

12- Did his parents or brother and sister attend the dam cuoi? ( I think she messed up this part, my brother in vietnam attended this wedding, plus my uncle on my mother side, my aunt on father side also attended this wedding , pictures proved, but she answered differently)

13- Why didn't his parents attend the dam cuoi ?

14- Let me see the evidences

They said why I only wrote her 1 letter and I typed that, instead of handwriting. Hello ? where are we living today? especially I'm an IT person . we talked, chatted almot 24/7 on yahoo except the time that she or me went to sleep. but if we wanted to tell something in writing then we used email.

But I think the reason is because I make only 19k something since I must sponsor for her and my step daughter.

I just fedexed my letter of employment and income verification, job offer letter , last paid stub , screen shots of my profile on my company intranet website. such as my position, my education and general information (SSN, name, address).

I hope everything will turn out good, otherwise I have to go back to vietnam again, this will be the 6th times I go to vietnam in the time frame 1.5 years.

I also want to add that my lawyer is very helpful, he took extra steps to help us out and we really appreciate that. If you need a good lawyer I'd would recommend him. PM me for his info.

I don't normally spend time in the Asia regional forums but your thread titles caught my eye.

Wouldn't it be much more appropriate to say that her visa was temporarily denied due to your inability to prove financial support for three people rather than SHE FAILED. She didn't fail. People don't FAIL interviews. Either they are approved or denied. It appears she was temporarily denied until they receive your financial support info.

Thank you kitkat1. I've avoided replying to these threads but it's hard not to respond sometimes. I hope the OP understands that the VJ community would like to help him become more compassionate and understanding for the good of both he and the woman who would marry him.

The 19K is not enough, especially with your child and a step child. I assume that your offer letter and pay stub show an annual income that will pass the poverty level guidelines. That would be better than findong a co-sponsor. We have not seen a lot of success with co-sponsors through HCMC. I have a good friend here in the States that is trying to bring her fiance over but her income has not met the requirements as she has been attending college the past few years.

Take your time a gather sufficient evidence to address the issues stated in the blue slip. Think like a CO, and think of the Big Picture. Don't put your fiance or yourself through the stress of trying to b.s your way through. The folks at HCMC have seen way too much to be easily fooled. Plus repeated poor resubmissions will really condition them to look skeptically at your fiance's evidence.

And take it easy on your fiance. I hope that the bluster here on this board is not directed at her. The stress level at the Consualte is unbelievable. Standing there across the street from the Consulate in HCMC is quite an experience. And I was there waiting for Linh to pick up her visa, so I could just take in the people around me. The looks of joy and devastation as people leave the Consulate is amazing. I got high fived by one man as he got to our side of the street and he flashed his pink paper to the folks waiting for him. I guess he figured the only white face in the crowd was one of his soon to be "neighbors" in the US. So give her the evidence and the confidence that she will be successful and join you soon.

Thank you Anh Map, you're such a nice person. I hope everything will be ok and I'll be back to Vietnam in couple of weeks to bring her over here to live a happily ever after family. Seriously, I can not live without her, we've been "in touch" almost 24/7 via yahoo voice and text chat except the time that either of us went to sleep or I have to work.

Well, I've read a lot of complains and stress out comments from everyone. Good advice from Anh Map!

It's been over 24hrs already after the so-called failed interview, here is my question to you Thai Pham @ IBM: What are you going to do about the low-income issue? Mind to share your plan how you will overcome this hurtle? If you're not sure, don't be afraid to say so and ask for help! Need to stay focus and not be sidetracked by everything else. So what, she wasn't approved, what done is done. New plan!!!!

Good luck and don't be discourage and what not! BTW, you may want to remove ALL your personal information and your work related info. Not a good thing to be posting around a public forum. Trust me, I know what i'm talking about Thai!

Be well,

chuck and kim

Thai,

How have you traveled there so many times on a salary of only 19K per year? Also are you working on a degree to be able to increase your income? 19K is not enough to support a wife letalone a family.

Thai,

You can either email or PM the admin and ask him to remove that particular post. You are the one who volunteer your personal info. No one is tricking you here. You are old enough to know what you are doing.

I used to be indecisive. Now I am just not sure ...

I'm not certain on this, but I think he only made 19K because he was away from work in VN so much. He probably makes more, but didn't because of travel.
