This question my be way out there but I have not seen it addressed on this site yet. If you file you visa paperwork before the new fees go into effect after July 30, are you grandfathered into the old fee schedule to obtain your green card, etc. or do you pay the new fee schedule like someone who filed after July 30. Just wondering caused it seemed like a logical question.

You will pay the $170 fee to file the petition but you will have to pay the new fees for everything else.

That's what i thought originally but I had heard rumors about the grandfather clause. I guess it was just hopeful thinking. You know if Senators or Congressmen were trying to bring loved ones into the USA, they would have inserted a grandfather clause into the new fee schedule. Oh well what else is new!
