Mary i know that there is no time limit and they corvered all that just in one line " There is no maximum time limit " in that blue sheet i got after the interview. and i was so stupid to even think that maybe they do that just because they want people to send their passports later through amex so they can also make some money lol i was so stupid hahahaha

Any mary there is a pdf i forgot the link but it was something like uscis.gov/files/article/namecheck2april2008 ( i guess )

and it was something like

by may 2008 we will be done with cases pendig for more than 3 years and

by june 2008 2 years

.

.

and by feb 2009 cases pending more than 180 day

and after june 2009 98% cases's ap will be done in 30 days and

remaining 2% will be done in 3 months

Is that true ( plz every one comment on this OK ) i really wish i would be alive to see all that happening lol

Anyways i calle dthe embassy today and it goes through (for the first time for me, i was surprised, really) but the operator wasn't that nice.

me: hi how are you today

she: fine, what the case number

me: isl200XXXX..

she: pending ap,nothing else i have to tell you

me: ok but how can i know whats up with my csae

she: note this number 202..... call it and ask yourself

me: thank you so much ( blah blah blah )

or maybe i wasn't ready for that converstation, but trust me they way she started to talk i didn't feel like talking to her myself,..... whatever

and hey mary what you meant by desi to undesi and desi to desi. come on man i am not really and desi kinda munda lol. but to let you know that i am married to my cousin. and the thing i think went wrong in my case was my wife wasn't with me at the time of interviewed because she is school and we were thinkin that ok every thing is good and that my interview and i will get the visa but i guess just because she wasn't there so.....

so everybody listen up if you can join your fiance/fiancee or husband/wife DO DO yeah i said DO be there at the time of interview that really make the difference

GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND HELP EVERYONE WHO AER STRUCK IN ***KING AP

The PDF files you are referring to are about the name checks that are stuck for the naturalization applicants. Many of those persons have been stuck for years trying to get their names cleared to become citizens.

I am an American by birth and my husband is Pakistani. That is what I was saying non Desi marrying a Desi, and these marriages are looked at more closely. They want to rule out fraud with these cases and almost all of them have a field investigation while they are still in AP name checks.

Having your finance/spouse at the interview will not always help. The name checks are what need to be completed before anyone can get a visa to the USA. There are many agencies that perform these checks and men with common names sometimes have to wait for their names to be manually checked from all the data bases. At the embassy level three checks are mandatory and these checks have to all come back completed and still not expired, then the CO has his/her own list that they can run as well.

Does anyone know what USEM ISL uses to send the Packet 3/3.5/4 in terms of delivery method (pak mail/TCS/AMEX)?

While USEM did not tell me if they mailed P3 - I just called DOS and found out that Packet was mailed on 12/11/08. My spouse has not received it yet.

How long does it take to deliver such packet?

Thanks

Well I wish you both the best of luck on quick and easy journey for the Naturalization process. He definitely is a good man to take in his sister and her kids from an abusive marriage; plus you would not of married him if he was not. I am sorry to hear that Ami is not well and can understand that her coming to the US is not an option. Good luck and just take an immigration breather and enjoy your visit back to Pakistan.

I donnu much about k3, but we got our packet thru Pak mail. Wait few days & if you still dont see it in ur mail box then call/or email Embassy & ask them to resend it. Thats what I did & we got the packet the very next day. Now I am waiting for packet 4 & hoping for next month interview date.

SHAH,

You'll receive Packet 3/3.5 through pak mail and packet 4 from AMEX (they'll call you and ask you to come pick it up from their office). We received the wrong packet 3.5 TWICE from USEM... and then just asked someone on VJ to send us the checklist and mailed that.

When we got the wrong packet the first time, we e-mailed them and asked them to re-send the correct one and they sent the second packet (although wrong again) through TCS (for which we paid 200 rupees).

The best thing is to download the forms and get everything ready (2 passport photographs, DS -156, DS-157, copies of your nikkah nama, birth certificate, notarized Affidavit of support etc). Remember, the sooner you mail in your response to Packet 3.5, the sooner you'll get your interview date, inshAllah.

I am writing about this so we have a record of how AMEX and USEM play a volley ball with our emotions.

Yesterday, my husband called USEM and they said the passport will be handed over to the couriers within 2 days and they'll deliver in 2-3 days.

Today my husband called USEM again and this time they said we have handed over the passport of AMEX. We called AMEX and AMEX said if the passport had been handed over to them, they'd deliver it the following day but they haven't received the passport because it's not in their system. My husband told the operator what the guy at USEM had said. The AMEX guy said the embassy has probably delivered the pizza (can we start calling it pizza? It sounds more human that way!) to a department within the embassy that deals with couriers, and they could take another 2-3 days to forward it to AMEX.

Alhamdulillah it's right there on the edge, although all our flight reservations have been canceled - I don't how we'll ever fly before the end of this years, but Allah knows the best time...

ybutt20,

If you can get two people to reply with some information, you're okay!

From the pdf file you attached,

"USCIS has also requested that the FBI prioritize resolution of approximately 29,800 pending name checks from naturalization applicants submitted to the FBI before May 2006 where the naturalization applicant was already interviewed."

I am pretty sure they're only talking about naturalization applicants and not potential immigrants.

When we were waiting for our own background check to end, this article and this article gave us some hope (actually, our background check ended four months after reading this article - but that's of no consequence, we waited two years!)

The joint plan will focus on resolving the oldest pending FBI name checks first. USCIS has also requested that the FBI prioritize resolution of approximately 29,800 pending name checks from naturalization applicants submitted to the FBI before May 2006 where the naturalization applicant was already interviewed.

This is taken from the PDF file that you posted. Yes the agencies are trying to get the oldest cases that are waiting in some cases for years but the push is really for the many persons that are trying to Naturalize that are being stuck in limbo. We had a friend stuck for over almost three 3 years and was only able to get his naturalization done a few months back. During his wait he could not upgrade the petition for his son and wife. He has now done this and they are waiting on Islamabad.

Dhobee is correct and when you start reading these memos and such you must look at the exact wording.
