Thank you for your replies. I noticed that some said AP more than once??!! You are kidding me. Even AFTER the waiver was approved they still did it AGAIN?? So after all these years of this BS they could start the process all over again? I really don't understand now. Why would they do what they just took years to do all over again? I guess we'll be better off and faster in less than 5 MORE years when the bar is done? It sure seems like it.

I called Rome again last night. I was told they are waiting for "Material Support" from the U.S. now. She said since my husband is Pakistani he has to go through that and they just started doing this one year ago. They requested it in Sept 2006! Does anyone know what the hell this is? She said alot of people are waiting for this, some longer than us. She also said once this comes back it looks like it can be decided. As in an ajudication I hope! So how many dam years will this ####### take? I honestly don't know what's next. Body parts?

My congressman has been in contact with Rome on a regular basis. The last letter I received from my congressman was a copy of the response he had received from Rome,,,,dated EIGHT MONTHS, yes eight months after my congressmans inquiry. They actually took EIGHT fricking months to send a reply and that was from John Bulgar the head of the DHS in Rome. What a nice guy. So efficient. I have exhausted all resources and now I see that they can do this all over again,,,another couple years of the same ####### I can't even imagine it. Will this new immigration reform help any of us waiting for waivers doing the process the LEGAL way? From what Im hearing it won't. How can they do that to all of those waiting all this time? I thought we could pay a fine?

Can you please fill out your timeline so we can have mor einformation ofr the people that are going through the same process.

Thanks

Khurram

Everyone that is doing this process legally needs to voice their opinions on this new bill. From my understanding waivers will be non existant (overstays will be automatically lifetime ban) and that the backlogs will continue to stay behind since they will have to perform security checks and only fines to the EWI persons. I have been very sick this past week and on total bedrest and only today have I been allowed up with limited time from the bed. I wrote e-mails to all my senators and congressmen telling them of my disapproval on this bill and Jeff Sessions has actually stopped talking and willing to listen to the people before he makes any decisions later this week. I think we need reform but do not harm the family based petitions in this processing.

http://www.chinland.org/statements/mtsp.pdf and check out Amesity International on Material Support.

In a nutshell if anyone is from a country that may have terrorist ties the government has to rule out they the immigrant did not give any funds or support to any terrorist groups and the Patriot Act and Real ID acts broadened the scope of what can be deemed terrorist activity so this is why we have "Material Support" issues.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Hi everyone,

On DS-156 question 14, it asks for a "National Identification Number".... are they asking for the Shanakti Card number? What did everyone use for that question?

Thanks

I used The Nation ID card number issued to her in Pakistan

Is the National ID Card the same as what is known as the Shankti Card?

Thanks

No visa is needed. I have posted that in my earlier reply and that reply I received after emailing BHC in Islamabad.

Thanks Scarlethawk,

Do you know how long NVC takes to Upgrade the petition?

From my personal experience it took CIS about a month to upgrade a petition, Zaki mentioned it took Islamabad embassy about a week. Not sure about NVC, but if I think they are in the 2-4 week range.

Hope it helps!

Thanks. I guess I should expect the whole process to take at least 6 months. Is it correct estimate? Can someone confirm from their own experience??

Any suggestions will be appreciated. I emailed the embassay again now they are tellling us that an interview is scheduled for July 24, and the papers were mailed to him on 05-17. But my husband didn't receive any document. so I emailed them again and yesterday they told me that they re-sent the papers. But when my husband call them they say no we didn't re-sent the paper. I email them again to see if they can give us tracking number so my husband can pick it up, I get no response. I am so frustrated, I don't know what to do. How do we do anything without our interview packet?? Embassy never replies to my husband emails, they were emailing me but today I also, didnt' get any response. I use callling card to call ISB, but my card is waisted b/c the lines are always bz. I don't know why they are not giving appropriate response and my husband is beneficiary he also has right to inquire. I feel like crying I feel so helpless, the case went all this far and now again delima?? Help any suggestions????

There is no doubt they are extremely bz there, however, you should hear from them. What time do you call usually. I have called around 6AM US EST and it went through and luckily I was able to speak with someone. And it has happend three time so far, there telephone hours are 3:30 am to 6:30 am US EST. I am not sure which number you call but have you ever tried +92-51-208-2121 and then pres 1 and 1. See if you can speak with someone and then schedule a appointment so the beneficiary can go to embassy. Dont be frustrated, you still have time.
