EVERYONE WHO HAS HAD THEIR WIFE'S INTERVIEW, GOT A COUPLE QUESTIONS?

Did you attend the interview with your wife? If so, did you try to beg them to issue a visa right away instead of mailing it?

How do you know about this AP/AR nonsense? Is there a way of finding out if my wife is expected to be on it ahead of time?

Do you think chances are lower of AR/AP and mailing out the visa if I am there with her for the interview?

Should I plan ahead and book a flight to the US for her so they may give her the visa right away? (one of the forms asked if she has any travel plans)

Salaam brothers and sisters,

anyone please correct me if things are getting easier @ Pk embassy (coughs and doesnt hold breath) in 2005 and 2006 here is what typically happened

1) interviews are alone

2) begging does not work/ visa time or ap/ar time (18 months worth here and to various officials)

3) you find out about ap/ar when co decides or is mandated(males) to issue it (they hand paper after interview)

4) dont book any flights, unless you can afford to abandon the seats

Embassy did give his file and all pictures back, enclosed was senator letters, my emails to embsssy and DOS, i guess they used this as proof of relationship. so not to say these things did not entirely help the c ase. Did not make a difference on ap/ar time and requests, once it is handed over for this, it is up to computers investigating, data nerds to sort out and send back to embassy. then like a month for them to sort it out and call back for or mail out visa.

again Salaams and best wishes to all

Allah Hafiz

I posted before too about this. A freind of mine has files his I-130 with Vermont Service Center and see what he has received recently:

On May 11, 2007, we transferred this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. We sent you a notice of this transfer. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Neverending I am not sure what to tell you than to ask for your local congressman or senator to inquire on his waiver now on your behalf. They do not have to tell anything but AP but it might give your case a nudge in the right direction. Find out whom you need to talk too and file out the release form and go from there is all I can honestly advise. Sorry your enduring this long wait and may you find some help.

Thank you for your replies. I noticed that some said AP more than once??!! You are kidding me. Even AFTER the waiver was approved they still did it AGAIN?? So after all these years of this BS they could start the process all over again? I really don't understand now. Why would they do what they just took years to do all over again? I guess we'll be better off and faster in less than 5 MORE years when the bar is done? It sure seems like it.

I called Rome again last night. I was told they are waiting for "Material Support" from the U.S. now. She said since my husband is Pakistani he has to go through that and they just started doing this one year ago. They requested it in Sept 2006! Does anyone know what the hell this is? She said alot of people are waiting for this, some longer than us. She also said once this comes back it looks like it can be decided. As in an ajudication I hope! So how many dam years will this ####### take? I honestly don't know what's next. Body parts?

My congressman has been in contact with Rome on a regular basis. The last letter I received from my congressman was a copy of the response he had received from Rome,,,,dated EIGHT MONTHS, yes eight months after my congressmans inquiry. They actually took EIGHT fricking months to send a reply and that was from John Bulgar the head of the DHS in Rome. What a nice guy. So efficient. I have exhausted all resources and now I see that they can do this all over again,,,another couple years of the same ####### I can't even imagine it. Will this new immigration reform help any of us waiting for waivers doing the process the LEGAL way? From what Im hearing it won't. How can they do that to all of those waiting all this time? I thought we could pay a fine?
