Changing Embassy

Does anyone have any experience getting the interview package sent to a different embassy?

It is my fault. For some reason I put her home town in the PI on the 129F. On all the other forms I put her correct address in Bahrain. I called the Manila embassy and they said my GF would have to go to the embassy in Bahrain to get it trasfered. Manila also has only recieved the electronic copy. She said it will be about two weeks until they get it and by then the interview would be around October.

I am trying to find out how long it takes for that transfer to happen and my GF will see what the backlog in Bahrain is. We will then decide ifshe should resign and go back to the PI for her interview.

I'm struggling to understand that you have been sent to any embassy yet if you have barely received your NOA2. I know strange things do happen, but most everyone is waiting weeks to be sent to NVC and you are saying that you just received your NOA2 on the 12th and have been sent straight to an embassy. Was it an NVC letter that you received on the 12th? I know some people never received their NOA2 hardcopy and you filed in January. I'm a little confused by your data.

I wonder if you can email or call the embassy in Bahrain and explain that your case was sent to the wrong embassy. It would be worth a try unless your girlfriend is close to her embassy and could easily make it there in person. Good luck and I hope it doesn't delay your process too much.

OK, I do have the NOA2. I called NVC and they said the package had been sent to Manila. I called Manila and they said they only had the electronic copy, hard copy should be there in about two weeks.

Vismaster - Is there another letter I should get from NVC? I don't remember the date but the person I spoke to said the package had been sent.

TracyTN - My Fiance is in Bahrain. We are trying to decide whether she should get it transfered to Bahrain or resign her job and go back to the PI.

Update: I just spoke to Bahrain. They said she has to go with a letter requesting the transfer but they could not give me a good timeline when she could have her interview by. They are no where near as helpful as the PI embassy. We have decided she will put her resignation in and go back to the PI. At least that way we know se will get the interview by Octoberish (so said the woman on the phone) and she can spend time with her family.
