They called me today and said all the Embassy said was that the case was still in adminastrative review (what the heck does that mean) (and why would they tell her to come back on 20 AUG 2008 @3pm to pick up the visa if there were issues)So we have just been left hanging not knowing what to do or expect or how long its going to take!!! this is just CRUSHING, like my fieance said "its like they handed me a piece of candy and then took it away". any thoughts or comments would be grat. I need a shoulder!!

Damn, that royally sucks. I'd be outraged if it happened to me (and our timeline are identical in regards to the interview).

I'm afraid I can't offer any advice, but really hope it clears up quickly. I think just a few pages back someone mentioned it took 6 months to get through administrative review, and I know the BKK embassy is stingy with information and prefers to keep people in the dark rather than let them know what's going on and what they can expect.

For your email to the embassy, did you use the "magic" bkk2 address? I could never get a response from the address published on their site.

What is the "magic" BKK2 e-mail address?

What does the bkk2 address do for you, has anyone used it with any sucsess???

I was never able to get the embassy to respond to my emails when sent to the email address they have on the website. Even though I had formatted my emails correctly, I always got the auto-response telling me how to format my email, and never got a response from a real human. Using the visabkk2 address, I have always gotten a reply from the embassy within 1 business day.

Yes we've had success with it, otherwise it wouldn't be "magic" :)

Good luck and you do know the correct format required to send an email to the embassy and get a response, correct? If you don't format it correctly you just get an automated response.

I bought my ticket yesterday for September. Going to see the Mrs. for 2 weeks.

Cathay Pacific out of JFK via HK to BKK.

I like this flight because Cathay has electrical outlets at each seat for the PC,

gets into BKK at 5:30pm instead of the dreaded 11:30pm,

only 1.5 hour layover in HK, and only a 2-3 hour flight to BKK.

I used www.BT-store.com this time. very efficient.

When I try from Orlando (MCO) to BKK, it can't find any flights?! Do you need to schedule domestic flights to their departure cities separate, or should they be able to schedule the entire trip?

It couldn't find any flights for me from LAX on the days I searched. Try vayama.com. I've used them in the past and been very happy with the results they come up with.

Has anyone here gone the IR-1/CR-1 route in Thailand? I ask because can my spouse get the initial required vaccinations there, and then the follow up shots here in the US?

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

We didn't go IR-1/CR-1, but did K-3/K-4. Rin completed her shots in Thailand; the children did not. First set in Bangkok (Sept 2007), second set in USA (just before we filed for AOS in June). The form from Thailand showed "insufficient interval" on the medical form for the children. So at least on a K-3 it would be possible. Not sure about the IR-1/CR-1 since it is an immigrant visa versus non-immigrant for the K visas.

Hello, my first post here, been lurking about for the past 3 months now, but I have been picking up so much valuable information and helpful hints on filing my own K1 petition. And today, I just spent I-129F for K1! Hopefully everythings will turn up ok. Thanks all for helping me with my first hurdle through the K1 processing track...

Hello, and welcome. I am new here, too, but I have finished the I-129F part already and we are about to start the AOS.

As I am sure many in this forum can attest, it's a slow going in the beginning, but once you make it thru that part, it's smooth sailin'. I say this because after this initial part of separation, the rest is taken on together, and that's FUN!

Good luck!

Hilton,

Re-read what I sent you. Is it BNK or BKK?

The email address is bkk, but the format for the subject line is BNK, as BNK is the beginning of your case number.

Put exactly what I told you to put and you'll get a response.
