I talked to my girl last night after she ordered the police report. She said they charged her 200 baht, it was not free, and would be ready in two weeks. She apparently had not problems dealing with them and did have the NOA2 with her that she printed out from the email I sent her.

It's interesting that the fees for the medical exam are cheaper at Bumrungrad than the other hospital. And I just dont understand why they keep wanting more pictures done!! You would think the ones you send in at the beginning would be enough. It adds up having pictures done and all the fees for everything.

Tom,

She paid 2000 baht? Ours was free.

But then again the idiots working there totally screwed up our paper and we're still waiting for it.

No. She paid 200 baht, not 2000. I told her it was supposed to be free before she went and she knew that but who's going to stand there and argue with them when, if you piss them off, they can make a real mess for you? So she paid the 200 and they said she could come get it in two weeks so we'll see what happens then. I am glad it wasn't 2000 or I would have been screaming bloody murder as this visa is costing enough as it is.

Do you know if they asked to see the NOA2?

Sference,

My fiance went with our lawyer, and the police asked my fiance for the copy of the NVC letter. I just called my fiance and asked her if the police asked her for it, and she said they did.

Well I'll see what happens. She is going there tomorrow (Friday morning BKK time.) I had her print out packet 3 from the embassy website, maybe they'll take that. I can't believe those clowns would even know the difference, but maybe they will. If so, she'll just have to make another trip down to BKK.

FYI- I was doing some searching on the Internet and found a link to a newer version of the Medical Examination Instructions than the one that is currently available from the Packet 3 page of the website. Here it is: http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/med...tion_121207.pdf

It appears that the document was updated months ago, but no one bothered to change the link on the Packet 3 page to point to the new document... You will see the fees have been updated and some of the contact info. You can find this document by using the general search function on the website.

Thanks Jessica

I will send that on to Joom.

Are you hanging in there? I do not understand the delay

I hope you receive that NOA2.....like now!!

Thanks George! Yeah, we're hanging in, but it just keeps getting more and more frustrating as the days go by and almost everyone else with dates around us are approved, except a few... Oh well, it's completely out of our hands. It will come eventually. But we decided to move forward with a few things anyway so we're gonna do the medical and get the single certificate when we go down to Chiang Mai this weekend. I'm going to the 4th of July party at the US Consulate today so that should be fun and distracting!!! And Lute's birthday is Sunday so hopefully by the time we get back on Monday maybe there will be some good news!! Keep your fingers crossed!

HAha, knowing those idiots they probably don't know the difference. I am sure that a five year old kid could do their job just as well as those idiots working there, but who knows.

It's always better to be prepared when dealing with those jokes, but if that's all you have then it wouldn't hurt to try. The worst that happens is they say you need to wait for NVC letter. So it won't hurt to try.

Good luck!

That all sounds good to me....you have everything notarized that needs to be?

Now I have a question... :help:

Does my fiancee have to be in Thailand to get her Visa?

She is in England....Can the Embassy there give her a Visa?

We already had the NVC send everything to Thailand but when she picked up her police report for England the officer asked her if she was getting her Visa in England? Now we are confused.....we thought she had to return to Thailand.

Any cooments ...please.

Thanks much

George

Latest on the police report saga. She talked to the guy that handles it at police HQ. He said just to mail him the ID documents via Thai post. She told him it was for a US marriage visa. She said he knew exactly what she was talking about. Told her to call back in 2 weeks, and that she would have to pick it up in person, but she did not have to give him all the documents in person, post was fine.

We'll see.

Good to see your police report is running along smoothly.

As for our situation, my fiance had to go in to the police station today to request a NEW police report.

Those idiots told her that they will get her a new one in two or three weeks, then the piece of **** working there had the nerve to tell my fiance that she could pay 2-3000 baht to insure she gets a new police report quickly.

The nerve of those scumbag, low-life, worthless morons. Ughhhh!

So basically, then my fiance calls back today and asks the idiot who she spoke to at the station how much it would cost to get it quickly, as in a concrete price as to how much, and the moron told her "don't worry, we'll get it to you as quickly as we can, don't worry, bla bla bla and wouldn't even speak about it.

It honestly makes me sick how scumbaggy these people are, and how corrupt and sick in the head they are.

I advise you guys to be careful when dealing with these losers at the police station, they are money hungry animals.

Hey guys,

Here's another question for you. My fiance told me that our lawyer told her that she doesn't get the visa until 2 weeks after??????

I thought that we knew the SAME day whether or not the visa was issued to her?

Wow, so basically we have to wait AND SWEAT OUR WHETHER OR NOT WE GOT THE VISA?

HOLY ____ THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE.

Hey sorry, my fiance was mistaken, I guess it's on the same day, sorry, not two weeks.

I understood that the visa is usually issued two days after the interview in Bangkok. As usual, I could be wrong.

Sorry about your police report troubles. My DIL paid 10 Baht and is to pick it up on the 23rd. We shall see.

She had her medical the same day at BNH and they charged her something like 7,000 Baht for four shots, including the HPV. My daughters here in the US haven't even had that immunization, and my husband's career is public health. Go figure. Now surely my son will get his Naval Officer commission and they would've all been free!

Hey Thai family,

Oh yea, the HPV shot is UNBELIEVABLE. Basically, they are using them as guinea pigs. It;s now required for all intending immigrant woman between certain ages to get that shot. That's another thing that enrages me. They are just using them as test subjects. The US govt. is unbelievable sometimes. There are some bad side effects to that shot as well.

It's sickening.

George - If it was sent to Thailand, then that is what was entered on line 20 of the I-129f. If she is living in the UK, then she could have interviewed there (a friend of mine had a fiancee' from the Philippines that worked as a nurse in Italy - she interviewed in Milan). Don't know how you would change that now, though.
