Approved!

I found out this morning that we were approved yesterday. Was late for work so didn't have time to update everyone here. I can't tell you how happy I am and have been riding on the elation all day. Yet this evening, on the way home from work I burst into floods of tears, from relief I think and emotional exhaustion (work had something to do with that tho). I just feel so relieved and happy we're moving forward again.

Congatulations! I hope you have smooth sailing from now on.

Well, I am happy to report that my fiance arrived here in the US on his K1 visa last night! So, that portion of our journey is over. We're getting married on Feb. 16! Then on to AOS!!

For those of you still waiting, my heart goes out to you! I cannot believe, nor understand why so many June and July filers are still languishing at the service centers. It boggles the mind. I truly hope that you all get your NOA2's soon!

Bill - I foolishly hung onto the belief that the unfortunate circumstances with our NOA1 might mean luck in getting a timely approval. I hope it's smooth sailing too...but I'm just happy we got it.

that's like my ultra-cool Grandma... swims every day of the YEAR at a sea pool in southern Sydney... just turned 90 this year

she had quite a major stroke part-way through last year, and we were all worried for her, but she's back powering strong, and back at the swimming, and just got her driver's license again, so go Grandma

and the reason I mentioned her in this context - the swimming group is made up entirely of men (apart from her), and they called themselves 'The Shelly Beach Brass Monkeys', but Grandma objected, saying that unlike the guys, she had nothing to freeze off, and therefore the name didn't suit her

so they are now 'The Shelly Beach Brass Monkeys - and Elsie', and it appears like that on their logos and everything

julez and babbles - I am SO SO SO happy for you both, treely ruly

That's really amazing. My mom had a stroke about 10 years ago, and while she's improved a lot, I know how it can make even the simplest things almost impossible. Go grandma!!!
