Called CSC to check on the status today and guess what.... We're sorry but we are having problems with our system. Please call back some other time.

Damn right you're having some problems with your system!!!!!!

Jesse called today. He explained that we were concerned about our NOA1 notice date being in September and that as we were actually over six months since filing in late July we were concerned that we hadn't heard anything. The guy said that our petition was 'on its way to an adjudicator's desk'. Not sure how he would actually know that. Could be a ploy to fob us off since essentially all petitions are on their way to someone's desk at some point sooner or later. Anyway, I would suggest trying again and see if you can get similar info.

Haha - at least he got some kinda info - do you hate it though when you feel if you had made the call you could have asked more of the right questions and got a better answer? I always felt Jeremy gave up too easy cause he hates using the phone :P

mmhmm. He doesn't visit VJ so he's not really aware of what goes on between service centres or what exactly the process involves. I even PM'd him what I wanted him to ask. As I was typing out the details he's saying 'what's the case number?', 'they say I need to respond to the request for evidence', 'ok, i'm talking to someone'. Before I knew it and had even finished typing out the details he says 'call me'. And that was it. So yeah I wish I could call :P

Feel your pain guys, this waiting can grind you down. Hang in there its got to be soon

Thanks :) It is hard at the moment. But, we'll get there.

Got through to a human being just now and guess what.... she took my info, looked in the system and saw that I was pending, came back on the line and told me I was pending. At that I suggested that it had been "like" six months and nothing. So off she went again and had a look at the "processing timeframe for CSC" only to come back and tell me that they are processing June 18th right now and they received mine on Aug 22 so it looks like I've got about 2 more months. I didn't have the heart to tell her that they aren't actually processing June 18th app's right now and that VSC is approving Sept app's already yadda yadda yadda.

I'm done calling. It's going to happen when it happens. I'm going to take out some travel insurance and just go ahead and book the flights hoping that she'll have the Visa by May 24th when I get there. Otherwise if she doesn't have the visa I can change/cancel the flights without loosing that much money. I'll be damed if I'm going to buy tickets in May for a trip in May.

Our Visa Journey

07/29/07 ---- Mailed I-129F

08/25/07 --- Check finally cashed (8/27 I should be able to see the R number on the back).

08/27/07 --- NOA1 Arrives from CSC and I create my account profile on the USCIS.Gov web-site (the clock starts)!!!

02/05/08 --- After 191 days NOA2 (Approval) comes at last!!!!

2/14/08 --- NVC sends letter saying that it's on the way to the US Embassy in Bangkok

2/25/08 --- She receives Packet 3 from the Embassy

3/29/08 --- She receives Packet 4 with interview date (July 11th).

3/30/08 --- I e-mail the Embassy asking to make the date earlier because I've already got our tickets for June 13th!!!

5/6/08 --- No help from the Embassy. Rebooked tickets and vacation till September.

5/21/08 --- Embassy calls her and moves interview to May 27th!!!!! You have got to be kidding me!!!

Good call - I kinda got to that stage as well although I hadn't been waiting nearly so long as you - I had a couple of days of ranting and freaking out then figured there wasn't much I could do about it so I might as well just try and chill a bit :) I know it is hard but keep the faith - I am sure May will be fine!! :D You'll prolly be together before I move :D

Oh I hope it's on its way Babblesgirl!! I have a feeling it's going to be soon for you, idk why.

I know what you mean Thee Rak, I opened my mouth about this site when I called uscis and said that I know for a fact that there are many people getting approvals that filed long after us. The lady was actually pretty sympathetic sounding and said she'd look at something closer and then told me our file was in extended review...had been there quite a while already...and they are (were) actually working furiously through July at that time (it was december then and they had april posted as what they were processing then). She assured me that it would probably be worked through real soon. Mmmhmm suuuuurrrrrrrrrre. (as a side note, I think she took the sympathy route because I sounded more sad and whiny than accusatory lolol)

I guess my point is be thankful you aren't being told your file is in "extended review". I think you have more hope of a sooner approval if they just say it's still pending. I'd be thrilled if I heard what you heard today instead of what I heard last month.

And your plan of buying plane tickets now is indeedy a smart one I think. The prices are outrageous the longer you wait. Sometimes the change fee isn't that bad. And at that point, if you're changing them only a little bit you won't care anyway because she'll be ON HER WAY!!!

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

?/?/?? biometrics appointment

Myself and weedebz (remotely via text message) have the pleasure to announce:

The Friday Night Hijack!!!

*insert big booming announcement voice here*

At approximately 7pm GMT (2pm EST) we will be hijacking a thread (quite possibly this one, the July Filers thread or the July Filers' new home in the "Moving Here..." forum) and having a good ol' red wine and natter session :D A fair few of us are feeling miserable, fed up and dejected and those that aren't might have their excitement and joy rub off on the rest of us!!

Check any of the above threads to see where it'll be - I'm opting for the new July Filer home as it is smaller :D We can always move over to the chat room on my website later - MUCH easier to have a good old gossip :)

Be there or be...

a squashed tomahto ;)

FIRST OF ALL :dance:CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE RECENT APPROVALS :dance::dance: I havent been online a lot lately but I am really happy to see, that its moving on....:dance::dance:

:energetic: :goofy: :energetic: We have also been approved, but we never received a NOA 2, but a letter from the NVC that our package has been approved and that it has been forward to Frankfurt embassy :dance::dance:

Congratulations! I had no idea that NVC sent out letter too. At least that means we have another way to indicate approval when USCIS systems fail. This is great news. Good luck for the rest of your journey. Make sure you get that hardcopy NOA2!
