Just got home from the hospital.

Thanks to all the well wishers. :hugs:

My mom is doing better. When she was admitted, readmitted?, last night she was unable to move the leg at all.

By the time I left last night around 1am eastern she was able to move the leg at the hip. The knee and everything below was non-mobile. However if she moved the hip the knee was "loose" so that it automatically bent due to the weight of the calf and foot.

When I got to the hospital today she had remarkable shown improvement. She was able to hold her entire leg up in the bed. The hip is mobile still, forward and back movement are both possible. The knee is mobile forward and back also.

The suspect areas are her ankle and toes. At this time she is unable to extend the ankle in order to point her foot. She can not however, curl the ankle back. A similar situation with her toes. She can not curl/clench them, similar to making a fist. She can however extend them, if someone curls her toes for her.

She will recover from this, I know she will, cause my sister will ride her until she does.

Called NVC today, our petition has left NVC and is on its way to manila. I tracked it thru DHL so now finally i feel our process is moving and we are getting close to having the waits behind us...WooHoo

Chris - you are so emphatic! You're like my mum - she never uses any !!! Great news that things are moving though!! Jeremy called DOS yesterady - apparently the embassy hasn't received our case yet... the date it left tallys with what I was tracking though so they prolly just haven't entered it onto their system yet :) Sooo exciting though!!

Well i have to admit i did say "Woohoo" albeit quietly lol. I am saving the !!! for when she is here. Until then im wary of any snafus.

1 week and 5 days till the interview!! Countdown has begun. I hope it goes well for Dan, we made it this far have to stay positive right?

I was in the hospital yesterday having an epidoral in my spine to relieve swelling from herniated discs. It was my first time having anything like this. I never had anastesia like that. What an experience! I kept wishing Dan was there with me. It was quite nervewracking ordeal. I may have to get two more, in the next six months, hopefully Dan will be here next time and can go with me.

On the upside, I think the steroid is doing something, its only been a day though and they said to give it a week. So hopefully each day will be a little better.

How is everyone else doing?

Christine

Ya I noticed the china airlines myself....... I prefer Northwest, they are around 800 though

500 sounds better right now......

Quick question for all the filers from the Philippines...what are all of you planning on for airplane tickets? I have been checking prices lately and found some great deals from China airlines. One-way tickets from Manila to either Seattle, San Fran, or LAX are only $480 after tax. I think I am planning on getting that price and then probably just having her fly Southwest into Salt Lake City. Does anyone else have any good ideas?
