I had a luvverly time, thank you

spent a week in a gorgeous big country house in East Sussex over Christmas, doing day trips to places like Battle and Dover and Canterbury and so on (and one to Stonehenge, which isn't exactly close to East Sussex but my cousin was in the UK for the first time and it was her only chance to go)

cooked a fabbo Christmas dinner for seven, so go me B)

and then a week in Paris, including three and a half days with my lovely love

of course, on one of those days I had the norovirus, which was rather sub-optimal

though he did care for me VERY well

and then the day he left I felt a bit better, though still rather weak, and then my last day there I had it again just as badly, meaning that I missed out on going to Versailles which I was REALLY disappointed about

however! all in all it was a good holiday

now for my off-topic (since I don't have a cat, and I simply can't hold it in any longer - this is directed at no one in particular, but has been narking me for ages):

1. The ellipsis is made up of THREE full-stops (...), not a random number of your selection (.............) (.......) (................................), and cannot be substituted for all other forms of punctuation

2. 'I could care less' DOES NOT MAKE SENSE

If someone COULD care less, then they obviously do care; the phrase that is needed is 'I COULDN'T care less', which indicates the impossibility of caring to any smaller degree than you do at present, and thereby, your total lack of caring

Lol - yes I know about the ellipsis although sometimes I sneak an odd extra "period" out if I am cold I hate that word for a type of punctuation - should defo be called a full stop!!

As for the caring less - I know it doesn't make sense at all but I have started to say it annoyingly and I am not sure why - was something that used to irk me also!!!

oooooo on a totally different topic the river behind my house just broke it's bank and golf balls (ok maybe not quite that big) of ice bouncing of the ground and my windows, the joys of scottish weather, wet, wet, wet and more wet. Won't miss this!

and muffin - believe me, if I REALLY start I'll never stop; I'd just been browsing elsewhere on the forum and saw both of those twice each in quick succession so came scuttling in here to blow my tiny mind

tucson_chick - thank goodness that even when I get a bad stomach bug it takes a LOT for me to vomit so I never quite got that far (though I came pretty close a number of times, including once on the RER - between stations - which was a VERY bad moment)

everything else was quite gruesome enough though

LMAO - That one annoys me too!!! We get that a lot in work - people I work with say it all the time and I kinda want to correct them but figure I would just sound pretentious!!!

on the language subject...try living in Scotland. I'm Scottish and the use of the word "how" here drives me mad. Alot of the time up here people use how instead of why. For example, if I was to say I went shopping today someone might say how? meaning why did I go and not what method of transport.
