On another note about windy Glasgow - on weather.co.uk it is showing 12mph there... here in Bristol it is 30mph winds with 44mph gusts :/

I hate to show my unworldliness, but you measure wind speed in MPH? I thought it would be KPH.

I hate to show my unworldliness, but you measure wind speed in MPH? I thought it would be KPH.

Thry still do stuff in miles in the UK, everything else is metric. My fiance says its cos the gov't determined it would be too much a hassle to change signage to KPH. Not sure if that's the real reason, but all road signs in the UK are in miles.

man, I missed so much in here last night! :(

it's been happening a bit recently - I just couldn't get into VJ, any part of the site... I'd click, and it would think about it for a while, and give me the error page... meanwhile, I could access everything else (ie other websites) lightning-fast

I was going to ask if anyone else had the same problem, but the pages of conversation would indicate that no, you did not :(

did someone just work out a way to ban me? :P

in any case:

- Jeraly, I'm SO glad you like the album; I'm finding it incredibly catchy too :)

- LOVE the rings; just gorgeous :)

- I'm interesting :P

- had a touch last night :dance:

so perhaps an RFE is on its way :(

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Great Congratulation to StillThePrettiest and everyone in July who has gotten NOA2 so far. I too was approved yesterday, got the email early this morning! :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: Yes, I was complaining about not hearing anything, not even a touch...then bang I am approved. No touches, no RFEs nothing before my approval. All I can say is that I am soooo gald that I had VJ to guide me during my application process, I followed all the recommendation on VJ to a T. I think without this site I would have had many RFEs. Thanks to the folks to created this site and manage it. Also I must add that the timelines are quite accurate too. I had tears of joy, which is not what I expected on reading my email, but then I too felt very calm. Now I have to start thinking about my next step in the process. Have a nice weekend.

oh and nick made it back fine along with his luggage. He called me at 3am GMT. Was so glad to hear from him, even at that time. He did have to literally get security to help him skip some queues and sprint to his last flight with my laptop on his back. He said when he was waiting to go through security he called a wee woman over and apparently she was great, he showed her that he only had 10mins to get to gate and she grabbed him out the queue pushed him to the front of the first class line and then told everyone to move so he could get through. Then he just ran for it and made it just as they were boarding the last 2 people!

I am feeling very relieved and thankful, to have this step sorted before Christmas... and I'm going to see my sweetie at New Year, and in Paris, no less... I really am very blessed :)
