Hello everyone! I've been a silent reader for a few weeks now....never posted on a forum before, so I'm a little lame (inept). But I wanted all the July lovers to know that our NOA2 WAS APPROVED THIS AFTERNOON!!! VSC. Receipt date for NOA1 was July 16th. It came as a total shock to me because they never even touched my file in all this time.

Here's the amazing thing.....last night, I went out to eat by myself after work. I frequent this great sushi place that's actually Chinese-owned. Well, all the people who work there know of my situtation. The waiting. The agonizing. So last night, one of the waitresses gave me a Lucky Bamboo candle for good luck. I took it to work this morning and put it next to my computer. When I got back from lunch, I had this funny feeling something was about to happen, so I keyed in my file number, and VOILA!!!! Amazing, eh? I am a firm believer in positive energy. Attract nothing but positive thoughts and feelings because that is what you will receive. To all of you out there still waiting, have faith, for your time will come soon. I will be thinking of all of you.

Okay, seriously, Amazon should pay me for plugging their little device... but seriously! Books are heavy and I cannot imagine having to ship a billion of them over an ocean. Moving mine across the Canadian border a couple times was enough.

Just a quick update on our status... The Consulate at Guayaquil received our application on 12 November, and sent out the Packet 4 to Belen. Belen received the packet yesterday, and scheduled her interview today. She has a tentative interview set for the 23rd of January. The reason this date is tentative is because we requested an expedite on her interview due to military reasons. We requested a date between 17 and 21 December, as this is the very soonest we know they will be able to accommodate us. Anyway, hopefully we find out if our military expedite for an interview is approved by the end of the week. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

Best of luck to everyone. Once our package made it thru USCIS, the whole processed went a whole lot faster.

It's good to know that after the NO2 is approved it's quickly sent to Guayaquil. Hopefully by March we should have our interview since i will be in Guayaquil.

I know the suspicion of curling up with a little device rather than a good old real

When I opened the thread, that line jumped out at me before I even started to read. In a forum for people who are seperated from their lovers, that line could only go one direction....books. Go figure.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

In a modest town where honest people dwell

I can’t imagine I’ll be very popular posting this, but it’s been a thought that keeps drifting into my mind, and I wonder if there’s any validity to it. Maybe it’s not a trend, but it seems like people who have more complications in their relationships are waiting longer for an NOA2. I’d be interested to find out the stories that go along with people who have been waiting 6 months or longer. Do they have previous marriages? Children from the previous marriages? Does their SO have previous marriages with children from those relationships? It seems like these would be harder to adjudicate. Because not only are you looking at the two people who want to be together, but you’ve got to take into consideration their families. Do the families plan on coming to the US once the visa is approved? I would imagine that they’d do background checks on the families as well, not just the beneficiary. I recall reading a thread with some posts written by a former USCIS adjudicator that made it apparent that more complicated files took longer… So I would think that if you’ve got a lot of history, the process could take a little bit longer. I’m a worrier myself, but if your file is taking longer than others on this site, I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that they’ve lost it, or that something’s wrong. I would just think that it’s taking a bit longer to check out your history. Personally, my fiancé has a divorce behind him, and I’ve got the name of a convicted felon (found it when I Googled my name!), so I imagine that it will take just a little longer to sort my file out. I’m keeping you all in my thoughts- especially those of you are watching the people who filed after you slide by. Just be confident that this won’t be forever, and that you WILL eventually get through this!

CONGRATS on the approvals! It is a great feeling and a tremendous relief. Now the process really starts to speed up (with any luck at all).

Another quick update... I received an e-mail from the Consular today. It doesn't appear that it will be a problem to have Belen's moved up to a date between the 17th and 21st f December, as long as it is for military reasons and she has all of her papers ready as well. She has been ready and waiting for a long time. She just finished her medical exam today. Anyway, the Consular said they would check with the interview scheduler to see what dates and times they could make available for the timeframe we have requested. I have to give the Consulate section a lot of credit. They have been very willing to work with us to try and help in anyway that they can.

I hope everyone else's petitions go just as smoothly!

LMAO!!

I had to tell my mum about that - she found it so funny!!!

Jeremy has had little luck with CSC today - he is calling Mon/Wed/Fri just to annoy them (an potentially get our petition lost on purpose :P) Here is his result:

Hey Honey, I wasn't as lucky today. Couldn't get anything specific and I think I irritated the guy on the phone. *shrug* Better luck friday I guess :(

So guess he'll be phoning Friday too :)

I must say it is good ofr him - he is a complete phone-o-phobe so even if it doesn't get us anywhere it should build his confidence :D

hahaha, I am also a complete "phone-o-phobe", as you put it. I want everything done by email! I don't even want to have to call NVC to track my petition after the NOA2 stage! :help:

I know... I should get over it.
