Lol!!!

Ok - Jeremy is hopefully going to be calling CSC on Monday so any ideas what to say/ask? Oh and the number would be helpful too if anyone knows it!!!

How about "oops, wrong number - sorry for bothering you ".

...or you could simply explain that because you have plans your K1 petition is much more important than all those that are ahead of you and waiting patiently.

No need to be so nasty

Geez - all we want is to find out if anything is happening not demand they approve our petition now - calm down! I promise I won't jump the queue on purpose - not even to be spiteful!

all true, but even more to the point: Jeraly was talking about asking for information; AT NO POINT did she say she was going to try to get her petition expedited, for ANY reason

so perhaps we could stick with the facts and not start with suppositions? :)

*has some suppositions of her own but FAR too polite to mention them :innocent: *

Aly: (sorry for speaking for the masses) As far as I'm concerned MOST of us are behind you! We are behind each other and here to support each other.

"it's me dave": sorry but you picked probably one of the closest, most well bonded threads to say something so unbelievably heartless (and stupid) in. If you are happy in your situation being apart from your loved one you should probably question that love. If you are not happy well......I hope you have a happy outcome as no one deserves to be put down for persuing happyness.....whatever it takes!!! (as long as it's legal of course!) As much as all of us somewhere inside would love to skip the queue, we wouldn't feel right knowing it was at the expense of someone else (legit expedites excepted)

...... And if people bothered to read beyond a single post rather than jumping down someone's throat then they might understand that people often have specific circumstances.

Knowing what I know there are a few people on these boards I would gladly let ahead of me.

Most certainly - there are plenty of people I know who I would choose to go ahead of me in the queue as it were :DI don't want special treatment - I know we perhaps weren't all that wise in the beginning but then I expect that only a few of us were. Maybe we jumped the gun?! Who knows?!

Defo!!! NOA2 is where it's at though!! Can we request an expedite to NVC? How would that work? Does Jeremy just need to contact his congressman?

I do read beyond single posts, more so than others it seems.

I noticed only Weedebz gave her advice on what to say. " I understand the issues from your side but I'm sure you can understand the difficulties we face. All I'm looking for is information on when we can expect our file to be adjudicated as our wedding is imminant and it's become so much of a worry?"

Mine still stands as the second most 'supportive' response.

I think there is a bit of dishonesty in some of these posts. Of course, she would be attempting to get her petition moved along by calling USCIS. Due to her situation I don't blame her. She has asked for advice on what to say. Little advice was given. Maybe she will let them know about the "people I know who I would choose to go ahead of me in the queue as it were". I doubt it though. So let's be real. Everyone can say 'I would let your petition go before mine'...'no, no ...you first', and such, so that everyone can feel good about their virtual selflessness. The reality is by calling USCIS inquiring about your petition when there is no indication of irregularity in your case you are unnecessarily taking up resources that could be better spent helping others who appear to have been passed up or otherwise aggrieved in the process.

Along the same line, I can only imagine that those who use the 'RFE trick' make it more difficult for petitioners trying to get help with an actual RFE's. I don't like to see members encouraging it.

My apologies to Jeraly for using you as an example. I'm not trying to pick on you. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get approved prior to your wedding. I would even let you ahead of me, if I was in front of you, if I could . ;)

Dave - If you read what you highlighted in Jeraly's post you will note that she asked if whe could the petition expedited to the NVC, NOT to get an expedited NOA2. There is a difference. And given her set of circumstances, I believe it is entirely reasonable for her to ask if its possible. Given that its taking 3 to 6 weeks for CSC petitions to make it to NVC, it will make a big difference for her getting to the consulate quicker so that she can hopefully get a quick interview. We're all frustrated by this long wait, but you need to lighten up a bit.

Not really. Debz has repeatedly requested that members PM her with updates. Its not her responsibility to go mucking through every thread looking for approval announcements. So if those that you mentioned would send Debz a PM, I am confident that she will update them on the spreadsheet. Finally, lets not lose sight of the fact that Debz is maintaing the spreadsheet as a courtesy to us July filers. Please, give her a break.

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.
