So it's theoretically going to take about a FULL YEAR from application of approval to VT to arriving in the US???? :/

Man.... I was so mislead then.... I thought it would be about 6 months total from application of approval VT to being with my fiance here in the US!!!!!

Is this true??? 6 months is posted on the gov website for approximate wait times.... so this is not counting the average 4-6 month wait AFTER THE APPROVAL for the Consolute interview/visa..... right??? So that would be 6 mo + 4-6 mo then... correct???

Any more wait times I am not aware of while I'm asking....? :/

I too thought that I would have my SO here in 6 or 7 months, not close to a year. I know it sucks, but it's just reality.

As you can see, there is also the wait for the case to be forwarded to the NVC (National Visa Center) and from the NVC to your embassy. Luckily, Vermont seems to be pretty fast with that step, so it shouldn't add too much. In my head, I think of it as adding a month, though it could be faster, but that just works for me.

geez...thats a tad below the belt! This is supposed to be a SUPPORT forum! We are all in same situation. We are all stressed and unhappy with the situation, we all deal with it differently.

Hmmm.....if you don't have anything helpful or nice to say, it is probably best to not say anything at all. It is really disheartening to read posts on here where people just go out of their way to be rude and nasty. This is supposed to be a support forum.

"it's me dave": sorry but you picked probably one of the closest, most well bonded threads to say something so unbelievably heartless (and stupid) in. If you are happy in your situation being apart from your loved one you should probably question that love. If you are not happy well......I hope you have a happy outcome as no one deserves to be put down for persuing happyness.....whatever it takes!!! (as long as it's legal of course!) As much as all of us somewhere inside would love to skip the queue, we wouldn't feel right knowing it was at the expense of someone else (legit expedites excepted)

Hmmm.....if you don't have anything helpful or nice to say, it is probably best to not say anything at all. It is really disheartening to read posts on here where people just go out of their way to be rude and nasty. This is supposed to be a support forum.

My thoughts precisely. I find this kind of thing often more disheartening than the process itself. And if people bothered to read beyond a single post rather than jumping down someone's throat then they might understand that people often have specific circumstances.

Knowing what I know there are a few people on these boards I would gladly let ahead of me.

Most certainly - there are plenty of people I know who I would choose to go ahead of me in the queue as it were I don't want special treatment - I know we perhaps weren't all that wise in the beginning but then I expect that only a few of us were. Maybe we jumped the gun?! Who knows?!

However, as I have reiterated many times, we have not once moaned or whined about our wedding date and that we might not have the visa in time (please correct me if I am wrong!!!!). We might have panicked, asked for advice, considered our options, wished we were more wise to the processes before we booked, sure. But we have never blamed anyone for our situation, including ourselves and I would expect the same courtesy from others.

Fortunately, here, I normally find that courtesy and more

I love you guys!! Ok maybe I drank too much wine but all I want to do now is give you all huge huggles!!!
