The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

If you worked with the partners in the law firm I work for you too would be driven to jelly baby maiming! :) .... There are some really nice ones who help with stuff :D but a couple of them are self important, arrogant, pompous twits who walk around with their noses so high in the air. I HATE ARROGANCE  . We are all human we all breathe the same air. I had a run in with one of the pompous ones today who basically treats anyone who is senior solicitor or lower or in office services as if they are somewhere between the pavement and the sole of his shoe.......... at least the office services manager (my direct boss) has taken my side, dreading monday morning as apparently going into a meeting with the chairman, the partner in question, my manager and one of the IT guys who witnessed the outburst.

I was thinking today... I can hardly believe that it's almost our time now. July filers being approved! I don't think the time has gone particularly quickly but I vowed to myself not to even bother worrying about approval until at least 120 days was up. I am sure the first 60 days were the worst. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though.

I am feeling so much calmer about the NOA2 thing than I ever was with the NOA1. I was so worried back in September when our cheque hadn't even been cashed and I wonder whether I expended all my nervousness back then. Time will tell I suppose. When the majority of July filers have been approved and I'm still waiting to hear (again  ) you may hear a different tune from me. ;)

I'm feeling very positive about all this right now. Good luck everyone! :)

July 25, 2007 --- I129F Received by Vermont Service Center

That's it........... have not heard anything from them since receiving the Notice of Receipt of my application!!!

My fiance is in Accra, Ghana and I am in Boston, Mass, USA.....

I understand the current wait time for the approval of this visa is 6 months at this time.............

I am wondering a couple things:

1) What is the average wait time for interview at US Embassy in Accra AFTER APPROVAL OF FIANCE VISA BY VERMONT SERVICE CENTER?

2) What is the wait time between APPROVAL OF FIANCE VISA BY VT SERVICE CENTER AND FINALLY COMING TO THE US???

Anyone??? please.....????

Welcome!

What Vermont is approving is not actually the visa, but your PETITION for a visa. The visa is approved/granted by the embassy or consulate after the interview.

If you go here:

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...a&cty=Accra

you will see that the current wait time for the interview after you petition is approved is approximately 4-6 months.

As for the average wait time to get to the US... this varies greatly, b/c different consulates takes very different amounts of time after the NOA2 stage. Some people get their interviews extremely quickly, while others take months or more. It's dependent upon the wait you have for an interview. Then for some people they have to wait even after the interview and the approval of the actual visa. I don't believe that is the case with the Ghana embassy, though I'm not 100% sure. A good person to ask would be ZeeNusah.

I hope that helps a little though!

I feel similarly, I can't believe it's our time! July people are actually getting NOA2s. Though... not many from Vermont yet, sad to say. But now when I login to check my case status, I realize there actually could be a touch, whereas before, for the past 4 months, I knew it was completely futile.

I also have this worry in the back of my mind that I'll be one of the last July filers to get approved b/c that will just be my luck. But I tend to sort of hope for the worst so that when the worst doesn't happen I am pleasantly surprised. :D

Oh I'm so glad I'm not the solitary weirdo :P

What you've said is exactly the way I've been thinking. I didn't even check my case status very much until I heard the first July approvals had come through. And like you, I try to prepare myself for the worst and then it is so wonderful when good stuff happens.

I think VSC are getting things sorted. I'll keep my fingers crossed for us all :)

Hehe - yeah I am much more chilled out than I was but still - the pressure is on because of the wedding... I just have to keep telling myself that even if worst case scenario comes to pass (cancelling K-1, going through K-3) it will all be worth it in the end and it will all work out one way or another :)

And Debz - I know just how you feel on that one - I hate it when people think they are so much better than everyone else :P Have a few people like that where I work too

Thanks so much!!!!!!!

So it's theoretically going to take about a FULL YEAR from application of approval to VT to arriving in the US???? :/

Man.... I was so mislead then.... I thought it would be about 6 months total from application of approval VT to being with my fiance here in the US!!!!! :crying:

how sad!!!!

Is this true??? 6 months is posted on the gov website for approximate wait times.... so this is not counting the average 4-6 month wait AFTER THE APPROVAL for the Consolute interview/visa..... right??? So that would be 6 mo + 4-6 mo then... correct???

Any more wait times I am not aware of while I'm asking....? :/

AGain, YOU HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL!!! TY!!!

ask for your NOA2???? hahaha sorry!

I think he should be as pleasant as possible. Having worked in call centre to pay my way through art college the best way to get info you want is to be nice. Just have him say something like " I understand the issues from your side but I'm sure you can understand the difficulties we face. All I'm looking for is information on when we can expect our file to be adjudicated as our wedding is imminant and it's become so much of a worry?" You may get someone that cares, you may not.....cross your fingers and mine will be crossed too. I really hope you get approved soon.

I really want all the july filers approved so we can have the July Approval Dance Troop
